It's not a free. Plus a sell-onSouthend fans saying his girlfriend lives in Havant. Not sure if he met her when he was at Brighton or Southend. Seems he wanted to move back down South. Trust we have inserted a robust sell on clause if its a free. He is a good prospect and will earn us some money in the future no doubt.
Well this is strange, seemingly weve gone from not letting him go out on loan unless he signs a new contract to letting him leave for free.
I guess he was going to go for free at the end of the season anyway and in this case we may get a sell on fee so we could end up with some money

Definitely Egan as well.Possibly as RND, Clarke, Bash, JLT, Gordon and poss JOC in front of him
All of those are either currently crocked or not suitable for CCB role or should not be removed from their current role because there is no fit replacement.Possibly as RND, Clarke, Bash, JLT, Gordon and poss JOC in front of him
Unless the Shirecliffe sniper claims Egan tomorrow... Then watch on Sunday to see our defence unravel in the scramble to fill CCB slotWe won’t regret this one.
He is a commanding 6'4" athlete who is a tailor-made CCB.I think Hal got it almost right. Lopata is no different to a load of academy youngsters with potential.
Was he recalled last season as emergency cover, but not used?
I like him as a player, but I don’t think he will go much higher than league 2, (league 1) if he’s lucky. He is driven by his personal perceptions rather than footballing ones.
Wish him all the best, as Hal says, his personality comes over quite well in his vid with SUW.
He was an above average defender, who had his head turned by his experience at Roots Hall. I wish the lad all the best, but his choices up to now have been Ill advised and impatient. He is not as good as some have led him to believe, but he’s a nice bloke for all that.He is a commanding 6'4" athlete who is a tailor-made CCB.
Give me one other in our squad who can replace Egan , who is not :
1.Currently injured
2.Unsuited to CCB
3.Currently doing well as RCB or LCB who would detract from our attack if moved
The only suggestion I've been given is Bash who is :
A.not a CCB
B.the only cover we have for RCB & RWB.
Stupid penny pinching to sell Lopata at this time.
At least keep him till January
After your persistence coming on this site and putting up with us lot, the club decided to throw you a boneWoke early this morning wondering if I drempt this last night!
I doubt any of us will know quite how or why this move happened but I will very happily see him wear the Navy blue shirt for a couple of seasons. If he can be part of lifting us out of the National League swamp soonish, then that would be great for him and us.
As to his potential, based on what I have seen, FL1 or FL2 would be well within his abilities now, beyond that depends on a multitude of things. I'm still at a total loss to understand the move, or where we got the dosh to make it happen, but for now, I'll just enjoy it all.
