Thoughts on the kit?

I’m trying to gauge if it’s actual issues or whether it’s a bit of snobbery.
It's a bit of both for me, although snobbery has negative connotations, it's about club image. Errea aren't reputable enough, don't look prestigious enough (for a club chasing promotion) and aren't in keeping with the overall quality image of the club (squad, ground, youth set up, social media presence). The actual kits themselves look very cheap and sweaty, poorly executed.

I always wondered what happened to the curtains my grandma had before she died in 1987!

They've been in the boot of Jebbo's first car, an old Beemer.

That Bristol away top is an absolute beauty. Wish we'd gone for Hummel.
...and me. Would've been my brand of choice. Knock out some quality stuff.

Out of interest, if sales are poor, customer service is bad (it's been appalling), and there isn't enough commercial revenue coming in, I wonder if United could pull the plug on the deal? Chuffing hope so.

Think we have missed a trick here, would have been a far better seller with the stripe down the right hand side with badge on left, even down the left would have done.

True it would be similar to this old away kit:

Well after liking the design of the home shirt when it was first revealed, I'm starting to think the adidas fanboys may have had a point. At least they were logistically sound and there were no issues with the quality. We should have tried for New Balance, Umbro, or Hummel

It’s an interesting perspective that Errea aren’t reputable enough when I’d say that Errea have more in common with United than the likes of adidas, Nike and Puma.

What appeals to me is that they’re the underdog wanting to compete in the top league… just like ourselves. It’s not necessarily a positive, but a spin is that they’re making kits which are perhaps rough around the edges and not a household - like our team, manager etc… rough diamonds

Their ethos seems aligned with ours. They don’t just want to be a template, we do things our own way, the blades way and Errea way?

Whats not to like?

I love Utd fans. If there was a Championship for hand wringing & moaning about absolutely fuck all we would win it at a canter.
Anyone who knows my posting will know that I'm generally balanced or positive, towards clapper. I generally want the best for United.

Still, if sumat is crap and they've got it wrong, I'll call it.

This is crap, they've got it wrong with Errea.

"The dark crimson and off-white striped away kit is inspired by what the home kit looks like when it's rained a bit" Sheffield United - 2023....probably.

I'm not pro- any brand.

I'm anti-cheap shite.

The first adidas kits were awful.

Only one comment really...

Has anyone else noticed that Berge's not appearing in any promotional videos.

Presume he's definitely off in the next transfer window?!?

PS: Away socks are naff.
Neither are the vast majority of the rest of the squad! It's basically been Billy, Anel, Bogle and Wes in both launches. Don't remember if Jebbo was in the home kit one.

Judging by the queues on Saturday and the mostly positive reaction to the away shirt I don't think there will be any issues in terms of revenue. If the quality is shit and loads have to take their shirt back then that would obviously be a reason to pull the plug but I'll be surprised if the sales are poor enough to do it.

The collar done as a crew neck using the same style as the sleeve cuffs and the red stripe being wider/black stripes being slightly thinner and it’d be a “modern classic”. It’s always the small things with shirts. So frustrating that it came so close.

My first impressions of the new away kit is - I prefer the interim white kit worn since Portugal break without the red black stripe.
I look at it and i think the shirt is a rallying call to go and fight the crusades just a few hundred years too late.
Its a bit like cross of St George with the Randox logo and stripe. Sir Bill Sharp just needs a sword in hand to supplement his photo.

So i will not be purchasing either kit. Lets hope the 3rd attempt is a full on lime green number or something a bit more colourful.

Home and away kits are both decent looking kits, similar ratings to last season’s from a visual perspective, we’ll see what the quality is like when I can order the kids ones and they arrive.
