SUTV email just said full video replay tomorrow (no time given). Luckily got Friday off work, so avoid score tonight and in morning and watch it tomorrow afternoon is the plan...

This tournament needs scrapping. Nobody gives a shit

It's clear by the amount of Championship clubs that appear to have thrown in the towel during this round that they don't give a shit.

Tonights match might be us and WBA trying to put the ball in our own nets.

With a big squad like ours, in fact it’s a great opportunity to give competitive time on the pitch to players, see Khadra, McAtee tonight.
Also, you’d probably give a shit if we got to the semi finals as we did not all that long ago. Don’t understand this miserable attitude.

Win and it is another game in August. The way the club picks up injuries there won't be any players left fit for September.
It is no surprise that Championship clubs are getting knocked out by lower league clubs.
With the ridiculous amount of fixtures in a hot August which can just add to injuries and fatigue.
This argument falls down because most Championship squads, including ours, are easily big enough to make wholesale changes which also means more players can get game time. Also why are the August fixture lists ridiculous? So far we’ve had two games in two weeks.

I think for some of our fans this competition is just another excuse to have a moan, and they’re only really happy when they’ve got summat to moan about.

It's changed hugely from when we got to the semi-finals. L1 and L2 sides putting out reserve sides shows the competition is dead. There is a reason Man City have won 4 out of the last 6 League Cups and that's because they have the best reserve side in what is now essentially a reserve team competition.

It's not about being miserable at all. I'd watch the game tonight if it was on TV as I'd like to see our new signings but I wouldn't be arsed if we won or lost. I imagine most clubs don't see these games as anything more important than pre season games

Fair points, and I get that it’s changed and the FA Cup may be going the same way. But what a shame and I can’t believe there is no room for at least one or two competitions that aren’t the league.
Top clubs play a lot of European games, if the cups go the rest of us get fuck all apart from what for many middle table clubs are just bread and butter league games. Very sad.

I must have missed the reason, but why is this game being played on a Thursday night please?

Can't find the exact details now but I believe it's due to the Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham last week and the knock-on this has created. West Brom's game with Watford was moved to the Monday, so the earliest agreeable date for the cup tie was Thursday this week (this is also why our Boro game has been moved to Sunday).

Edit - here you go: https://www.birminghamworld.uk/spor...n-have-been-moved-new-dates-confirmed-3748445 Probably more annoying for West Brom fans than us tbf!

Thanks for that, thought it was for TV, but no one is bothering to broadcast.👍

It’s not that they’re “not bothering”, it’s that the EFL won’t allow them. On Sunday, however, it is Middlesbrough who are not allowing it, for some mysterious reason.
The plot thickens, what have these people got to hide.🤔🤔

No build up but it has a different message than the others.

It was a fail
