Hmm not exactly promising but the mid table league one playing for Wendy made me chuckle

Ideal for a newly promoted side expecting to go down !!
Good job it’s for a year in the Championship !

He sounds really good and really shit in equal measure, we'll see!

It seems to me he hasn't adapted under new management at the toon. Sounds like he was at his best when Benitez was still in charge.

Pretty sure Hecky asked Egan's opinion. Egan had the chance to say he's a mid-table L1 player, if that was true. As I'm pretty sure Egan wants to win every match next season, not just play alongside a (possible) mate.

“More or less guaranteeing defeat selecting him, he’s that bad. He’s shot to bits mentally and physically and needs to drop down a few divisions so he can look competitive again. He’s done here and at any other club in the top 2 divisions.”

Oh dear :(

Toon fan and season ticket holder at my work says he is shit and he laughed when I said we were interested in him, but we will see.

A few reflections:

Have Geordies always been a bit above their station, or is this their new found riches?

This made me laugh no end: “Clark would be a great choice for a newly promoted team looking to go straight back down.”

...and as a few have said, this guy gets it! 😂 “In a parallel universe nobody would bat an eye at him being mid-table in League 1 playing for Sheff Wed or Ipswich.”

Their comments seem fine to me, don't see too much arrogance amongst them.

He isn't good enough for the level they're at and they hung onto him for too long.
Isn't that clear anyway? He's taken a loan move to the Championship in the final year of his Contract and barely featured last season...

All we need to be concerned about is whether or not he's still up to playing at this level of football and I guess we won't know until we see him.
He's clocked up a lot of minutes at the level above and the last time he was down here (5-6 years ago) he was their POTY and they were Champions.
So hopefully he's still got it...

I honestly know very little about him as a player though.
Is he good in the air? Decent on the deck? Fast / slow? Can we expect him to get involved in our overlapping system?

Does anyone else know a bit more?

Being honest I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion on how effective he could be for us. Mixed reviews from Newcastle fans.
What has been said about him by Dan Burn and Eddie Howe is that he has a good professional attitude.

Reminds me a bit like Stearman who came to do a job and may be chip in with a goal or two I’d call it an insurance policy we do need plenty of centre backs if he’s a stalwart then that’s fine by me.
