I’d genuinely be interested in an explainer about how agents work. I appreciate they are going to do everything to maximise their fee. They will hold out for top dollar but I assumed that was all in the ‘name’ of their clients..

So Surely they work for the player and if he would to come, how can they stop it? Arnt they paid for doing the deal, if the deals agreed between all 3 parties - then surely that’s it, what other roll do they play?

Do the players sign away thier rights or something? Does it genuinely need and agent to ok the deal? Are the fee structure not signed off on when the sign up with an agency?
The fee the player pays the agent will be pre agreed but the fee the club pays the agent isn’t

Interesting. But I still don’t understand how he could stop it

Presume he doesn’t have a contract with the clubs. If club a and club b and the player are all happy. How can it be stopped?

The clubs presumably negotiated with each other - as far as I can see the agent plays no role in that (in theory if not in practice).

Seems like he just wants playing 2/3 times, just because.

It's like the lad from Watford a few seasons ago ,according to a Watford supporting colleague who has a few links with the club his agent was banned from ever bringing a player to them they were disgusted at trying to get more money for himself as for the player it would have been excellent for his development

I’d suggest it would have made sense to do the deal, then ban the agent from future dealings with the club. What did happen suited no one.

He can’t stop it if the player wants to sign and override his agent. If the player is prepared to listen to his agent then that’s that.

I don't really understand agents myself. Surely it would be best to have a friend or family member represent you so the money made from it could go back to the player and not into the off shores of overweight casting couch level sleaze cunts.

Only if said friend or family member was a registered representative and also capable of negotiating complex agreements. It's not just a matter of just turning up in a new Range Rover to claim your 15% (unless you represent Seth Johnson and are dealing with Peter Ridsdale of course!).

I'd say he's two-footed. Looks very capable on his left, and dare I say, overlapping centre backs 😲

Seems to have played on the right for Malmö but on the left for Bordeaux

About time we had some positional flexibility at the back to be honest.

Wasn't it all agreed, and then at literally the last minute the agent demanded another 30k on his fee?

If Bash gets injured, Anel would move over and Jacky Long Throw would come in
We need replacements for both Bash and JLT. More than happy with either as cover from the bench but unless RND is being developed in the LCB role we need another brining in.

Always a bit concerning with our history of not bowing down to agents that Anels could become a pain in the arse, (see what i did there...) but i really hope we don't have an 11th hour hitch, this guy looks excellent and as a few have already said would represent a bit of a coup for SUFC...

It’s actually pronounced “throat wobbler mangrove”.
