Dean Henderson

Still maintain that Henderson was no better than Ramsdale; a lot of the love came from how much he bought into being a Blade. He was a promising keeper that was still learning, all the while benefitting from playing behind a team that limited big chances. Very good, but not the world beater everyone thought he was.

Be interesting to see how he performs behind a (probably) worse defence.
I’m one of those who believes Hendo is better than Rammers. Rammers is more erratic in my opinion.
Will be interesting to see how they both get on next season.

Henderson said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such a fantastic club with an amazing set of fans and a wonderful history. I want to thank the manager and owners at Nottingham Forest for the great opportunity to play for this club in their first season back in the Premier League."

Obviously wasn't watching when some of them behaved like complete wankers then?

I remember when we were in the championship & the pigs got relegated to L1 & I was gloating to a pig friend; “you’ll be playing Stocksbridge Park Steels & Bradford Park Avenue soon”, to which he replied “Footballs cyclic mate, be careful what you say.” Sure enough shortly after that we found ourselves marooned in L1 for 6 years….. the scabs will have their season in the Prem & then we’ll see….

Oh, I know I’m in the minority on this. In fact I’m pretty sure I’d end up with fanboy death threats if I posted it on Twitter. But I think he has (had?) a lot of the weaknesses you’re saying Rammers suffers with.

Shot stopping, bravery etc, all not really in doubt. But his dealing with crosses and corners was occasionally questionable. And for me, there was a massive question mark over his concentration and decision making. The difference was, he barely had these things tested at United, whereas Rammers did, constantly.

These are things you improve with experience though - maybe his game has matured now? Guess we will soon find out.

You’d be wearing those threats like a badge of honour Webding! 🤣

It’s gonna be interesting isn’t it this next season for them. Not least to see who makes the WC squad.

100%. I worked with a old timer die hard blade who basically was saying the same thing when SWFC had the initial wave of excitement under chansiri. He'd probably seen about 50 of those cycles over his time.

Definitely that sort who prefers the shit times so the queue for the toilets is shorter. Got to love footy for the different sorts.

But ultimately if we don't don't enjoy the fleeting moment of joy on the way up, what's the point? Proper gloating deserves the treatment though when the tables turn of course ;)

I think they’re very much the same, ability wise. But one was a badge kissing hero, while the other one was a bit of a mard arse.

Haha very true!! It’s also interesting to note that clubs operate in different cycles. For instance, I work with a few gooners & a failed season for them is when they don’t win anything! Other than that, they’re perpetually in the top 6 & have been for as long as I can remember! It’s surreal to me. In my lifetime - 50 yrs, we’ve won div4 & L1. Nothing else!! The churn experienced by most other clubs is much more frequent & at a lower level.

As for our resident gloater I don’t think we’ll be hearing much from them once the season has started……

Confirmed today. Wayne Hennessey as his number 2.

Samba available if you can find £5m, might need to sell half your squad though 😆 he's certainly a step up from Foderingham with his paper strength wrists.

MGW coming soon.

Grade A wanker! You that is, not Hendo. Tell me, what else do you get up to in your spare time?

I think we should lay off Notts Red a little. None of us know how it’d feel to have had a 23 year absence from the top flight. Our pathetic joy of returning after our long spells out at 14 years, in 1990, pales into insignificance. If the internet had been about then, I’m sure everyone would have been wasting their free time gloating on the Newcastle forum.

I'll lay off when the thick twat lays off posting shite on here.

Wonder if he will still come to watch us like he used to or not bother now he had got his new little club to keep happy

Just had a look on there forum, they really hate us and quite a few checking this site out. Gloating about getting hendo and possibly mgw and to top it off talk of coming for berge.

Hey !! There's nowt wrong with Snottingham, I've had some grand times there at Goose fair in past and though I'm glad I'm not a Snott, me sen like. it's still a nice place to come from....

I wonder if Hendo is as good as he was a few years ago, for me two years as a #2 at Man U has done him no good at all, says it all when Ramsdale is above him in the England team pecking order. I know his desire was to be #1 at Man U but he should have gone elsewhere rather than play #2 to a keeper on mega bucks who was never going to be dropped.

It's a worthwhile much needed move for him but he should never have had to settle for something like this at this stage

He should have played over 10 games as England number 1 by now and be first choice at somewhere like Spurs or Milan if not Man U

He's had some bad luck but above all Man U have fucked him

Local product or not, these greedy selfish bastard clubs don't give a shit

I guess he didn't have to sign what they offered him but they made it hard not to and probably lied to him

Certainly be interesting to see and I kinda almost wish he isn't. Sickens me he's gone there.

I’m annoyed by this but glad he has his career back on track after wasting two years. Gibbs white going there would be more annoying.

By all accounts Man U did plan to have Henderson as first choice but he had a bad dose of covid which meant he was not fit until a couple of months into the season by which time de Gea had cemented his place as number 1. As for who played better for the Blades, Hendo or Rammers, taking into account the quality (or lack of) of the defence in front of him I would say Rammers was better, particularly second half of 20/21 season.

R u OK Hun?

Reckon he'll find it harder going there myself, IMO. His career for the reasons stated has stalled.

He's better than Forest, but he needs forest to make that stepping stone again. He's basically repeating the step he made with us. In the hope that, regardless of their fortunes, he'll benefit. Spurs no 1 after Lloris would be a good opportunity, for example.

He'll find it harder going this year, mind. Our back 5 were a well drilled machine, at the height of their form and prime of their careers. Set all sorts of then defensive records, that season.

Now, Forest are far, far less organised. You only have to look at how easily we got at them, and could have beat them, without any strikers, and youngsters up front.
