I’d say our record is mixed…

Chapman, dowell, Woodburn, were young players that never really progressed they way they might have liked

Goode, hourihain, Davies didn’t enhance there values here (injuries a factor admittedly).

Couple of intentional forays didn’t really work out either with the likes of Restos and that Serbian geezer.

On the flip side the likes of MGW and Hendo played their way into the intentional stage and probably improved thier value exponentially here.

Same for Swansea really MGW didn’t work out (injury) neither did Burns, but Brewster, Guehi and Gallagher did. They’ve probably got a better record than us really.

Not counting the older loanees as they won’t impact on the decision making for a team looking to send a player out on a development loan.

He’s looked good for England this summer but agreed he is young gives us options and depth alongside Coulibaly though which can only be a good thing.

Seems like a good player who would improve our squad. I don't see him coming though as he we likely be back-up for Norwood. I am sure Villa will want him somewhere he is expected to start. I think it would also signal a lack of faith in Coulibaly to contribute this year, as they have similar profiles.

Agreed. Not seen loads of him but he looked to have some really good attributes (that we lack) in central midfield.

Was about to resurrect this suggestion. But have just realised it was resurrected the other week and I even replied to it!

Quick Google suggests his price was recently rumoured (probably guessed) as £4m.

He looks like he has some really good attributes. More importantly all the attributes that I think we are lacking in MF.

From his highlights he looks composed, holds and carries the ball well, young, powerful, strong, athletic, good range of passing. Exactly the type of player we should be looking to acquire IMO.
