Will we do a ------

The plan apparently is to only spend what we earn and base the team around academy players. Fkin ludicrous and will see us in L1 sooner rather than later. If owners won’t invest any of their own money what are they contributing? Nothing.

That’s very little do do with the post l replied to.

It’s been explained many time where the moneys gone. But you repeatedly ignore that. At the end of the day it looks like there’s little or no owner investment, the consensus being he doesn’t have it. Under those circumstances, what would your answers be? Spend? Spend what? Banging the same drum solves nothing, no one on here has the answer, save for a billionaire buying us.

Much of the same comments were made by some before the L1 promotion season. And the Championship season, oh, and before the first PL season. Those who continually claim they are always right have very selective memories.

I’d suggest most aren’t that happy but understand the situation. As frustrating as it is.

Based on the massive improvement in both our style of play and results obtained by Hecky and co , as compared to those under Slav and Wilder in his final year , I am quietly confident we are in for a good season .

For me , these guys have already done enough to show that they know what they are doing and , whilst acknowledging that the loss of MGW will be a serious setback , I still believe we have a better squad of players than most in the League and that they will get the best out of them .

In addition , I’m not panicking about the lack of transfer activity so far and believe there will be a number of shrewd acquisitions / loans to further strengthen us before the season starts .

To the small minority who appear to be pissing their knickers before a ball has even been kicked , I would suggest that this may be somewhat premature .

I d put my mortgage on us NOT doing a Bournemouth.

I doubt we ll do a Barnsley either. Not this season anyway.

At this stage, our starting 11 is not far off what is was at the end of last season, with a few injured players back in the mix. If we don't lose anyone and we replace MGW, I don't see what the fuss is all about.

I know we can't just stand still forever, but the negativity on here is embarrassing.

Training ground still shit? ☑️
Hotel still empty and boarded up? ☑️
No recent ground improvements other than some tacky paint job on the South Stand? ☑️
No recruitment so far this pre-season despite Hecky saying we wanted players in before training started? ☑️
No money despite 2 years in the PL and parachute payments? ☑️

But apart from that you’re right.
All your points seem to relate to finance and not shambolic management.
I think we all know what happened to most of the Premiership money, although a significant amount is still wrapped up in playing assets, which may or may not be realised either on the pitch or in sales.

The team that started last season was given a spark because of MGW's brilliance and Berge finding something resembling form and consistency due to him finally being played in his proper role.

We won't have either player next season

I cannot see where the creativity and goals are going to come from.

Some might call it negative because they like arguing the toss with anyone that doesn't clap like a seal and accepts whatever crap is thrown at them because they are so much bigger Blades than everyone else, but I call it realistic.

This team without those two players wouldn't have got into the top half last season, and might not have even got out of the relegation trouble they were in early doors.

So unless there is some major recruitment in the next few weeks, I think we will have problems in this division next season

Has Berge gone yet? How do you know we won't sign a loan replacement for MGW? Loans happen late in the window

I'm happy in the knowledge that there will be three worse teams than us.
Toughies for Birmingham, Reading and errrrrrr..(insert, reality TV silence)............the Millers.

A more balanced view is that yes we have some excellent players at this level, but we are already weaker without MGW, and it is going to be hard (although not impossible) to get a similarly influential player, with what seems to be a fairly restricted budget this season.

Then we don't know what is happening with Berge, and when some players will return the same after bad injuries.

We scream comfortable mid table at the moment, but add a bit of quality, or lose a bit in the other direction and it's a different story.
CW did it and I beleive Hecky will do it. He’s starting from a much stronger starting position.

The form since he’s been in charge meant we were up there. If our season was only deemed a success due to one player then we need to be looking at the manager.

This team near enough finished 9th in PL. The starting line up is still very similar.

Hecky will get us to 2nd this season!

Really ... still no forwards apart from Billy ... the squad as it is won't emulate last seasons ... anyway tik tok ... gerrem in!

Give over.

A squad with Egan, Basham, Bogle, Fleck, Norwood, Berge, Ndiaye, Brewster, Sharp - MOTS finishing higher than 8th - hahahaha!

No MGW, possibly no Berge, Billy ageing and injuries more and more effecting him.. don’t see where a lot of goals are going to come from.

I hope Brewster can fill the sizeable MGW sized gap in the team - if he and Ndiaye can stay fit and strike up a rapport, we might be onto something.

We're still a goalscoring striker short because Sharp is still the only one who hits the net semi-regularly and he's nearer 40 than 30. To think that Adkins signed him and is still our most productive goalscorer speaks volumes about where our failings have been when it comes to recruitment.

Surely there must be SOMEONE we can get our hands on who can hit double figures at this level who won't break the bank. McBurnie did it once but I'd be shocked if he got more than half a dozen even if he was fully fit.

It's certainly possible, I just think we need 4 or 5 in, as do most teams at the start of a season to be fair.

Brewster had 3 in 5 games before his injury.
I think if he can get over that injury quickly and get confidence in himself again, he'd be the one we could look to.
He's the only player on our books who can strike a ball cleanly it seems. When he strikes a ball, it stays hit.
Even most of Bill's goals look like he's scuffing them (but hey, it's worked for a long time!).

I think this needs to be the season where Bill is phased out. Use him as an impact sub where needed.

Brewster with Sander and Iliman behind him could be an exciting proposition.

Play RB up top, but not isolated, keep faith in him and he's good for 15 a season at least I think (if he can stay fit).

But apart from that you’re right.

Apart from loosing MGW all the above were there last year, didn’t stop us from producing a run under Hecky that would across a full season be promotion contending

So why all the negativity?

MGW was amazing, but who’s to say we won’t don’t find Mk2 in this window?
Did anyone expect him to have the impact he did?

He’s the only one (so far) that impacts our first team, but we have cleared out some dead wood and that has given us wiggle room in the budget for incomings

Don’t start bed wetting about new signings, outside top prem big money moves, no one has

Most on here are just negative whinging cunts😂

It's the central midfield that's my issue Norwood and fleck have been fantastic over the period we needed them but that's the area that needs the most focus

Still think bogle could play further forward

We were definitely right at the tip there last season when some fans thought we might actually achieve promotion through the Play-offs...

It’s terrible. Two years in the PL, parachute payments. It’s not as if it costs anything to run the club and the players pick their wages straight off the Money tree. Plus the Judge made McCabe give the ground back for just one shiny sixpence.

Weers munny gone ?
Love the absolute shite people spout, without any inside knowledge or appreciation of how much things actually cost, what is going on behind the scenes, what money is being put in by the owners, what the plans are around a new training ground etc, then attempt to make themselves sound like they know what they are talking about by calling it ‘shambolic’.

Sadly it’s the internet way nowadays, say something negative without any actual facts or evidence and say it loudly enough and some will latch into it being gospel.

Maybe we don’t have as much money as others, or maybe we are trying to be sustainable for the long term.

But for the appointment of Slav and injuries at the end of last season, there’s a strong chance we would be in the premier league now.

It was a brave decision to get rid of Slav so soon but the decision paid off because we were PKs away from Wembley which was inconceivable beforehand. Was that shambolic too?
