Cherry Street

Why would you want a cycle route around Bramall Lane? The main business in the area is SUFC. These restrictions limit access to the Club car park from Shoreham Street. This is widely used in the week by players staff and Blades fans for visiting the Club shop and purchasing tickets amongst other things. Turning right at the junction of Cherry Street and Bramall Lane can be difficult at the best of times. Another anti car decision from SCC which has no logic.

This is a terrible decision. It may seem unimportant but it will take ages getting out of the car park onto a busy Bramall Lane. I've a feeling those new planters are going to be removed unofficially.

I am surprised the club hasn't complained about access to the ground being restricted. The club isn't just open on match days its open during the week.

Things like this is what feeds the fan conspiracy theory that the SCC have an agenda against the club.

Few reactions from Blades fans...

"Whatever next"

"I can't understand why thiv dunnit"

"Beggars belief"

"Like transfer winder innit. Wants sorting befort startut season, not middler August"

"This is tboard this tekkin us fer mugs. Wi not avin it nermuer"

"It's Wensdis doing this, council's full on em"

Because it’s a major arterial route into the city, would be my guess.

Bramall Lane is only busy for at most, 30 days a year. On such days there’s a couple hundred people use the car park and need the road access and given where most are likely to live (affluent south western suburbs), they wouldn’t be using Shoreham Street anyway.

Not against the club, Motorists yes.

We shall have to start kidney punching cyclists.
Believe you mean 'council', because they really could do with a good going over, not cyclists.
Rode a bike to work for many years, all seasons. Why they need cycle routs I will never know, gerr'on yer bike, follow the rules of the road, keep well in to be safe and not obstruct others, making sure your well seen by motorists and signal properly, jobs a good'n.

SCC are fucking useless, and I mean useless from every experience I’ve heard and had from them, I’m sure some will have had good experiences from them but I don’t know them. If there’s money involved for those at the top then they’ll do whatever they’re told to do.

For instance, yesterday, my wife’s Nan had a fall and she managed to press the buzzer around her neck which she pays £21 a month for, she’s had it for ages and has never used it, they came fairly sharpish apparently but as soon as me and my wife turned up they couldn’t wait to get off and fucked off, they didn’t wait for the ambulance which took an hour and 15 mins when it was supposed to be no more than 40 mins and they also expected us to know what to do if anything else bad happened, she’d had a stroke and looked in a really bad way when we got there, I was a bit shaken myself, I’m not going to lie but the disregard they have for anybody or anything, something that is almost always paid for is absolutely disgusting.🤬
