Hope they all enjoy their night, nice couple of days rest, then back in Friday to get tuned back in so tonight's efforts are not in vain.

Looking at the attitude of the team though, they know. Thank you to one and all for standing strong against Stoke tonight, and still coming out passing.

Good report but don't agree with your player ratings. Surely Collins was worth another half a point?

Big mentions to the centre halves and Simmo tonight. I thought that was a great practice match for the derby. We will face similar pressure from a team that I think are inferior to Huddersfield. On another day they might have scored but we could/should have had 3 but for a great save and Harry poking it wide when he might have done better. I thought we should have had a pen too.

We showed a real team ethic and some neat passages of play.

They were relentless if lacking in subtlety sometimes. They have a system that is well drilled in to them and I can see why they don't lose very often. As I say, I think they are better than Wendy so here's to us in the automatics and play off heartbreak for the massive.

Simo 10/10
Collins 10/10
Maguire 10/10

Simply for having the bottle to continually put up and deal with that bombardment all night. Hudds did have a few chances, but with that style they'll always have a ball bounce their way (and as a Sheffield United fan I never thought I'd be saying that from that perspective...) Class told in the end.

LJF and Lowton were also excellent even if there was the odd mistake, especially from LJF. Lowton seemed to grow as a defensive player last night.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lowton beat two separate men with the same trick...consecutively.

Finally managed to trawl through the whole of Bladetoolong's report and got to say it was an excellent read.

Don't get to see them much living in Dunfermline but made it last night as I was in the area. Thank you to all the players and DW for restoring my faith in football. We took on a bigger, nastier and uglier team last night and played them off the park football wise. For me, the best I have seen the Blades play in years. No up and at em. No Bromby launching it from 35 yards out into the 6 yard box from throw ins (we let their thug do that) and no long launches aimlessly down the park.

We looked controlled in posession, tidy across the park and the defence (apart from LJF first half) looked unbreakable. Some of the runs out from the back were breathtaking for someone used to seeing skybound hoiks from box to box. We counter attacked well and generally controlled the game in the most part.

If this is the new look SUFC I like what I see. Good to see the supporters finally taking to Danny Wilson who has been a revelation since his arrival. I can't remember the last time we went to a promotion rival and took them apart teaching them about football in the process.

Vive la revolution.

Absolutely spot-on mate. What a pleasure to see a Blades team to be proud of as opposed to embarrassed by. Admired rather than loathed by other fans.

What a transformation from the Horrors of Hoof!

We're walking in a Wilson Wonderland and, given time and patience, that walk will take us to some impressive locations.

We  Football.

The match repot on the OS suggested it was a good game. Just watched the highlights and it suggests the same. A couple of points from my armchair view:
- credit to SS: couple of decent saves, but particularly the tip over from that header. Match winning save and key moment.
- penalty? Certainly seemed like one to me. Evans shot parried into the path of McDonald. K Mac seems set for a tap in and is sent sprawling from by the Huddersfield defender. Camera angle is not great, but just cannot see how he got the ball from there. Pen in my book. Cressy should have buried the rebound too (though it was a good save).
- we rode our luck a touch: Rhodes hit the post, his shot that Collisn blocked could have gone anywhere and he had a good chance (shot straight at SS) from six yards out. But it's about time we had a little look in the big games.
- Harry's miss: geez. Hit it first time and it is almost certainly a goal. The keeper is stranded and noone is near him. Poor touch, gets off balance and keeper did an excellent job of putting him off.

Excellent result. Rode our luck a touch, but seems we did enough to take the points.

His first touch would have looked excellent if he'd just chipped it over the goalkeeper.

Not watched the highlights. The save their keeper did at the opposite end to us looked brilliant to scramble across. The pen I meant was cressy getting manhandled as he tried to reach a ball (which he would have got) right in front of me.

Simmo did a save from a free kick that I'd expect saved but the tip over was great reactions and a match winner (again right in front of me) I liked his lack of flapping and letting our defence deal with the balls. Which they did admirably. I remember some criticising paddy for not coming for things but if you drill your defence I think there are some things that should be left or you become a problem for the defence. Poor decisions in that area cost us loads of points last season and it was better in this game.

There's a real team ethic on display too. Needed at a place like that and that bodes well.

Flynn's corners were good too. KMac was great. A really pleasing game to have seen.

Interesting diplomat. I think the K Mac incident was crowded out by the double save and the keeper denyting Cressy. Defo looked like a pen to me.

Agree about Simmo. He has Harry and Collins in front of him. He does not need to come unless he is certain. They will deal with high balls all day. Tuesday nioght is an example. Wednesday at home is another. We dealt with the Pigs aerial bombardment for 80odd minutes. Then Simmo came when he shouldn't have (and without conviction) .... twice. This seems to have been cut out and there is a greater understanding. He is enjoying him sen too. He's clapping the fans, looks happy and celebreating. Remember him coming over to us at Bury after the second? Resulting in that numpty dropping his hat and getting on the pitch!?

Flynn's coreners are a real asset. He delivers them really well. With Collins and Harry (and Cressy and Lowton) I would like to see us scoring more from corners. Just adds an extra dimension.

Tuesday night showed that we can not only cut teams apart, but win with grit. We scored from a corner and then went toe to toe with a big, strong and physical team. We got a touch of luck, but were worthy of the points. We can now dispell this myth that we're not good enough to beat teams around us and go to the Sty and take points. Let's get our heads down, keep playing consistently and rattle some points on the board.

Shit did I just put that?
