That keeper

Why was Samba dancing around though on the shoot-out? He looked like a 14 year old fool in a Sunday league cup final, utterly unprofessional.

Yet Wes looked calm and professional. Guess that didn't help though.

Can you imagine that happening in other sports though? Tennis where the opposition player is dancing in your eyeline during a break point? Nah.

That keeper did his homework.

Statistically this shouldn't matter. There's been a lot of studies on the random nature of penalties even for individuals who take a lot of penalties.

If you're taking one it's much better to hit the ball into the corner where you naturally kick (i.e. right footer to right corner), 2 of the 3 saved were across the keeper and the other was down the middle.

Great game by all the lads. Their coaching staff obviously anticipated penalties and prepared. We looked like we didn't.
C'est la Blades Vie.
Onwards and upwards, hopefully, next year.

It’s not a guarantee but I’m sure it gives you an edge, and in the end he saved three of our five penalties.

A 14 year old fool who is off to Wembley and potentially the Prem! I know which keeper I would rather be!
