FAO Those who leave games early

I left early, first time in years , thought I'd save 30 minutes waiting for a bus / traffic and see the little one who will cheer me up no end instead of that crap.

I also always arrive late FYI

I hate those who get up early before halftime for a pie thought, twats!

I think a lot of people just feel so bitterly disappointed with games/results like today that they just can't stand to watch to the end plus having to suffer the away fans celebrating.
I stayed until the end but I don't blame anyone who didn't want to listen to forest fans having the time of their lives for the last 10 minutes. If they got a third I'd probably have left before the end.

Well done to those who stayed fully deserved
I had to leave early to walk my 85 year old grandad down the steps because he has cancer, struggles to get to his normal seat (which he couldn’t sit in today) so sat with us as he was desperate to go today.

Is that ok with you?

Don’t think the original poster warranted such a stern reply and was being tongue in cheek to the masses. But if the cap fits…

Why not stay to the end and let the ground empty out, or was that an investment in time you weren’t prepared to make?

Hope you, your grandad and all Blades enjoy the second leg. I felt better for staying and seeing us get one back.

Could he stay to the end and wait for the ground to empty out? Or are there reasons he had to get out at that moment? I appreciate your shitty comment though.

Just think before you speak. I’d have loved to have seen our goal today after watching us get hammered for most of the game. However I had more important things to do.

Do you really think my comment was directed at you?

No of course not. It was directed at every person that leaves early. That’s the problem.

You were the only one who interpreted it that way.

Most understand that I my comment is not directed to those in such unfortunate situations.

It's like someone saying 'Why is our atmosphere so crap' (it wasn't btw) and someone responded 'well I can't sing because I have throat cancer' etc.

Otherwise every post will have to be 1000 words long giving a list of exemptions, common sense would suggest that I wasn't referring to extreme situations, rather to those gloryhunters who don't stay and support the team when the chips are down when they are able to.

Ok fair enough.

Apologies for the insult. Just an emotional subject and not everyone’s reasons for leaving are same.

You like dishing it out, so you got some back. As for thinking, I think you’re an overly sensitive lad who reacted like a child in directing abuse at the other poster who wasn’t singling you out.

If I was your grandad, I’d get a new chaperone for next time.

Yes I agree with you. Apart from the last bit, I do a good job with him and he loves being there.

But this is just classic you isn't it?

You post a general insult to all those that leave early, which isn't me by the way. Spouting your ill-informed generalisations, and then get touchy when called out. You are a bit odd, to be frank

Well I was there, and several around me left saying 'see you next season' to those next to them which I did not find impressive, do you?

And yes, I do get a bit touchy when someone with a cancer situation thinks that I am referring to them, though as you can see we have resolved our disagreement amicably already :)

Everyone's opinion is based on people's individual experiences, I couldn't go round the whole ground interviewing everyone who was doing that to become better informed, unless you'd like me to? 😆

I left early today, it was my 6yr old daughter's first game, she didnt like it, it was too loud for her and too busy.
We left on 75mins so she could use the toilet and we could walk to the car, without being surrounded by people.

Who gives a shit really? It’s none of your business what other people choose to do. We played awful and it was a wank match that we clawed a goal back that made a loss not quite as bad. Let’s not act like it was an injury time winner.

I left early and I said “see you next season in the championship” to my close seat neighbours as I left.

In my defence I had a prior engagement at 5:30 that I needed to be back for and we played pretty dogshit and looked like we wanted Forest to be 5-0 up after the first leg. Glad we scored though, gives us a slight hope for the 2nd leg.

Basically, everyone leaves early, because they either want to, or, need to, which makes this thread a clusterfuck and pointless.

"I was there in 1998, screaming my lungs out for the lads in the 183rd minute after we got hammered 4-0 at home to Sunderland. Police had to forcibly remove me from my seat".

It's a weird thing, done by weird people to heighten their own Bladiness and sneer at others.

Isn't it amazing that hardly anyone left early in the Fulham game compared to today?

The club clearly aren't impressed either before anyone has a go at me for posting this, as they themselves have posted it on Facebook:

I haven't left early all season, but I did today, and it was nothing to do with United, it was to do with my daughter, and nothing is more important than her!

On my row there were three of four people who were late in, toilet/food break midway through first half, our early for half time, late back in for second half and left ten minutes early. They must have missed nearly twenty minutes of the game. Why do people find impossible to sit and watch a complete match. Ok, we were poor today and it was a hard watch but we are still in with a shout.

Most games I Leave my seat 5 mins or so before the end cos I have to get to work. I sit in the middle of the kop and leaving at full time takes much longer. I stop in the bottom corner however and wait for the final whistle. Yesterday I stayed in my seat. Most really big games I stay put. I feel guilty if they've played well not to stay and applaud. Not everyone who leaves their seat is leaving the ground.

Anyone who pays their money is entitled to leave when they want and for whatever reason they want - END OF THREAD.

Is anyone suggesting that they should be restrained and tied to their seat to prevent them from leaving and have their eyes forced to be opened and be electrocuted if they don't sing loudly above a certain decibel level?

No.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, and anyone has the right to question the actions of those who can stay and choose not to. They have the right to leave, however there is also the right to criticize them.

You don’t have the right to criticise anyone 😂. You don’t know why people left. And frankly it’s none of your business. The people crying about others leaving early are way more annoying and worse than the people that chose to leave early.
