Personally I'm surprised! I've got 18,000 loyalty points and would expect to get a ticket for most games with that amount however I'm doubting myself on this one! What's the chances? Demand is through the roof! Also been talking to a wednesdayite he's also shocked but can't understand segregation! Apparently leppings Kane holds 6000(upper and lower) and 4700 is after segregation also they've lost around 6000 due to segregation in their parts of the ground! Surely for the biggest derby in years every seat should be open! Man city v Liverpool they had a row of no more then 50 police stood between the supporters!

Its spite, we cut their allocation before, they cut ours now... funny thing is, we managed to boost their attendance for many a year by selling our allocation

Unfortunately it is their ground and can, rightly, they do what they want(if SYP allow). The last two matches at the lane we could have given them more tickets (Upper tier instead of lower) but we chose not to.

Apparantly, including away tickets there are only around 32k tickets available for this one at the moment...SYP overkill for health and safety ? Surely the Pigs should be allowed to sell as many tickets as they can without segreation for their fans as there appears to be plenty of segregation on our end(1000 empty seats on the lower and around 1300 empty upstairs.Any extra tickets will be for their fans

Lets be fair here bartman, we gave the pigs 3000 on the last 3 occasions we played them because we could fill nearly all the remaining seats. I know this is an old debate, mainly raised by swfc supporters, but again they conveniently forget the fact that in January 1994 they gave United only the top tier for the derby match. Presumably this was because they had a decent side at the time and could fill swine cottage.

I remember being at the piggery in October 2001 and September 2002 when the presence of 7000 Blades did not push the attendance above the 29000 mark.

Anyway, why is it that we all watch matches like the Manchester and Scouse derbies when the two sets of fans are in the same stand (unlike the Sheffield derby) and the manc and scouse coppers seem to police those well enough? Why oh why do syp, if this is the case, feel happy enough to move the games to sunday's, collect the overtime and then do a half assed job?

Whilst were going off topic slightly....

- Will the Blades away fans be afforded the luxury of a Full on away end Ring of steel cordon?
- Will the Blades away fans get the same level of protection that the pigs got on their way to/ from the ground?
- Will the Police allow approx 100-200 Blades thugs to walk around 3 sides of the pig sty taking pot shots at normal fans, whilst just standing idly by filming the trouble

Just a few thoughts

Agree previously we were right to restrict them to 3k but no excuse this season, We could have given them 5k in the top tier the last two occasions thou and we could have had underneath. We need the money !

They could also given us part of there North Stand on previous visits but unfortunately, both clubs don't appear to think at times

Seems strange for the SYP to move the games to earlier kick offs as fans will be in the pubs even earlier anyway

I thought this was a myth as no one appears to have witnessed it. The only thing i heard was some brave piggies walking down Shoreham Street after the game started(no colurs or songs too ID who they were) then throwing a chair through a window of one of the shops then running.....not a Blade in site as they were watching the game.

Bit different from the occupation of that pub on Hillsborough corner....they will never live that down.

And what about the exit points from the north stand and leppings lane? Every year I have been there this has been a flashpoint. I do harp on about syp police but we all see them in 'action' every week at the lane and lets be honest, there's not many more incompetent than that lot.

Why don't they just close leppings lane off after the match and make their fans exit onto penistone road? Our fans could be sent up and onto Middlewood Road.

I was late going down to the game myself, so left the lion and was confronted on Cherry St by these little piggies going entirely the wrong way.

It definitely happened, but it was just before the game. It was clearly their thug element, they were pigs and they were singing. They didnt need colours, Blades don't walk around 2 sides of our ground looking at it in awe ;)

Never been to the sty myself, nearly made it last time, got a ticket, but the Ash cloud kept me in Switzerland.

I was walking up the Kop stairs with around ten minutes to kick off and there was around 15-20 of them walking down Shoreham street towards John Street. Had a few exchanged words with as others have put it "Normal" supporters. Had a few scuffles, threw a wheelie bin over a car at rival fans. Then the police were walking up Shoreham Street in a line so they couldn't pass. They turned round and went down Cherry Street (at that point out of sight).

Utter wankers. BUT, i know for a fact there'll be pockets of Blades doing the same on 26th february. (Wankers!)

Yes, I'm not going this time myself, for two reasons:

1. After 11 years of attending derbies, I have finally come to the conclusion that I would rather shit out an internal organ than be in the same place as those fuck faced fuckers.

2. The two derbies I did miss, April 01 and February 06, were both won by the wizaaards 2-1. Perhaps that is telling me summat.

Why does the Leppings Lane end need any segrigation? It's a standalone stand. They would just put a bit of netting over the bottom corners of the north and south stand if they are worried its too close there. You know, similar to what we do.

I agree with the exit strategy. You get funnelled out in to a bunch of Wendy and can't help but be squashed against them in a bottle neck. Keeping us back five minutes would help. Making them go via another exit would be better.

I've got over 18,000 points. Is that borderline for a ticket?

well i can only speak for the scouse derby but my mate who is from liverpool says the antagonism and undercurrent is 'nowhere near' what it is at the SCD.. he likened it more to the glasgow derby

So who reckons 18,000 will be enough? First thing 9 o'clock I will be on The phone! Anyone else in this situation?

you mean the pig farm...................

Big call sitting in pig end! I couldn't do it personally! Too much of a risk if I do go all club colours will be hid not getting into all the fighting after!

Took postal application in Saturday morning, after four tickets, two of us on 20k plus, one on 19k plus and the other 17k plus (Thursday). Was told 19k plus guaranteed and 17k plus very doubtful, so it's likely they could sell out on the day after Tuesday.

many years ago when hooliganism was rife in football, wendy were playing newcastle united at the sty, we were away but fairly local and our game was called off around 1pm so 50 or so blades in town on a saturday afternoon decided to go see the toon play, hiding all colours we entered the sty in their very own kop, after the game started we discovered around 30 toon fans also in wendy kop so we all "coloured up" surrounded by 40 million wendy fans having a great time, singing blades and toon songs and all we got all afternoon was a few dirty looks.
the moral of this story is wendy fans are shit scared if they face more than 5 under 16's, 50 blades and 30 necastle fans "took" their kop without a peep from the porkers, i believe it ended a draw and was a real fun night too with our new found northern cousins in black n white.

Phew. This loyalty point system is the dogs. I've always said so.

I phoned the ticket office Friday, they said that if everyone that is entitled took their allocation then they would sell out Wednesday. Two of our crowd can get ours Thursday, two Friday and one Monday. So the diemna, if there are some still left on Thursday, do we or don't we?

I was married to a pig fan and I took her to Hillsborough for a cup game v Man City a few years back and absolutely hated it. What made it worse is that they singing songs to then City keeper Nicky Weaver, who was playing up to it, and most of the songs were anti-Sheff Utd and it made me sick.

A couple of season later the Blades ran in to Nicky Weaver down at Charlton. I was there the Blade who had seen him acting up in front of the Wednesday fans and I was one of those who spent the first 45 minutes giving him stick. It was especially sweet after about then minutes when a cross came in from a free kick and the Blades gave it one big long ooooooooh, as the ball came in and almost as if to make a point he came flying off his line to command his area and collect the cross and dropped it straight at the feet of a United player who put the ball in the back of the net. We ended up winning 5-2 that day, and I don't think I have ever seen a keeper have a worst 45 minutes against us, or look as completely shot of confidence as Weaver did during that first half.

Save yourselves!! Two of our lot got theirs yesterday. I got mine and a mates today. Three more are trying tomorrow. Ya better off sitting in clumps rather than being disappointed

I called in today about something else, but asked anyway, I was told all 18000 plus will get a ticket.

Seeing as they could potentially sell out at some point Wednesday don't think all 18,000+ will be guaranteed to be honest

We had a similar situation against Chesterfield, waited for a mate and ended up missing the boat. Learn from my mistakes and make sure you at least get those two tickets Thursday morning!

Got my tickets for the Upper Tier this morning but the seats are numbered 5 and 6 so it looks like the Upper Tier will be sold out today.

since my first competitive Sheffield derby match in October 1970, I have missed only two competitive Sheffield derby matches (both in 1980 as I was playing football in Kortrijk when we drew 1-1 at BDTBL and I was playing cricket when we lost 2-0 at the sty in the League Cup 1st round, 1st leg)

get 2 tickets on Thursday, go back on friday and swap the 2 tickets for 4 tickets, go back on monday and swap the 4 for 5.

If at any point they sell out, at least those high enough up the ladder get them...
