I don`t wish to appear pessimistic but the last day game brings back memories of 1994 and 2007.
Isn`t requiring a draw what let us down before?
Chelsea away, one point required, lose it in the last minute.
Wigan home, ditto , failed again with a whole half to get an equalizer.

We can`t really sit back and play for a draw against Fulham as a team with that much firepower will surely punish us if we let them come on to us.
And again if as Hecky says we go all out attack we can easily be caught on the break.
Despite Borough being away, Preston and Reading (for Luton) should be a much easier proposition to get the wins as neither of their opponents has anything to play for.

Hopefully Luton will be shell shocked after the thrashing or maybe it will galvanize them for one last push.
Even Millwall can sneak in on goal difference.
We are in the driving seat but we have seen us blow advantageous positions before.
Remember 10 points clear of relegation with 4 games to go?
I really hope we can do it but it will be squeaky bum time especially if Fulham score.

We don’t ‘require a draw’, depending on other results we could draw and finish 7th or lose and finish 5th.

If we win we’ll make sure of the play offs and finish 5th to boot, most likely giving us an easier semi final.

There’s almost a positive to be taken from the fact that we have so many injuries we’ll be in the odd position of going into the play offs without the pressure of expectation on us.

We have beaten Fulham away once this season. Eight other losses mark the potential for a half decent side to beat them again. This time it’s at the Lane.
I’m keeping my team selection for the match thread.👍

Fulham have nothing to play for either. In fact, their players have already proved their worth, while Preston and Reading's players will be looking to end the season on a high.

I'll still be purchasing some man-nappies in case we're drawing on 85 minutes though

depends how you look at it we've managed 2 promotions in the last 5 years but hey why remember them when you want to be ndgstive

It wasn’t 4 games to go think it was nine or ten

Yesterday was a good day for us. If Fulham thumping Luton 7-0 doesn’t give our players a wake up call nothing will.

As for OP both those results were to stave off relegation, this is only a ticket into a 4 ball competition.

Ill also add re yesterdays result it is what I expected of Luton every week. HTF have they stayed up there week after week? Without doubt one of the worst sides I’ve seen at BDTBL this season.

What will be will be, I will say this though we are a far better team than Luton town who have done very well to get where they are so I don't think Fulham will be knocking seven past our Wes. Anything can happen in the remaining games we could lose and still finish in 5th place, we could draw and finish in 7th place, a win sees us in the play off's so that should be our focus no point at all in being timid and hoping other results go for us. We have beaten Fulham at their place we can do it at the lane. It's been said before that teams have their worst games of the season when they play us there must be a reason behind that.

Great result for us, what better way for them to win the Championship than a 7-0 pasting?

Get the bubbly out boys and another and another 🍾

I know I'm being pessimistic but Fulham "only" need 3 goals against us to beat Man City's 108 goal record in the 2nd tier. The last thing we wanted was them to have any kind of target like the chance to go into the record books.

Sort of reminds me of when we were last promoted before the last game, it was party time and the result didn't matter much to us it could be the same for Fulham who knows?

As posted on the other thread, I think this is a Sky-manufactured 'record' that disregards 90% of history

Will Fulham even be aware of this record?

What do Fulham have to play for?

Hope we score at least one goal if its a draw as that means Boro have to win by 3 goals or more away - a 2-2 draw might be a great result for us

Yes you are right , we dont require a draw as a draw could still be not enough because of the goal difference.
As other commenters have posted here its like QPR 2nd half. Just go for the win and if we fail at least we went for it.
None of the tippy tappy sideways and backwards please!

Final v Boro at Wembley I reckon

Not entirely comparable but in the mid-80s we needed to win our final game and hope that Hull didn't win away at Burnley by more than two goals. We won our game, then Hull won theirs 2-0 so we were promoted by a single goal.

I went to that game, loads of Blades there, really nervy night after Hull scored early on, but a great night out ⚔️

I liked the quote from Robinson on how the players had a talk at HT about what they needed to do then went out and did it. It is up to the players now they are the ones on the pitch. They are good enough to beat Fulham again, they just need to have the confidence that they can do it.

They have had a proper champagne moment the other night. Although I expect a tough test from Fulham, if you were in the side now are you thinking of playing to get into the side for next season or are you thinking of your 2 weeks in Margate with the other half. Hopefully it's the later for them and they aren't in a mood to turn it on.

To be honest I don't even want to think about it.
Even if all go's well, there's the prospect of another three matchers after this,
each one with more pressure than the one before .....

Stop the bus I want to get off....
😅

🙃

🤪Ahhhhhhhh
