Boro win 2-0, Blades draw 1-1 who qualifies for play offs?.
Head to head:: 1 win each we win 4-3 on goals scored.do we go through with winning the head to head.??

looks like they're also wondering about this up in smoggie land as well. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport...mpionship-league-position-determined-23835528

According to that "the good news for Boro, who on an aggregate score would lose the head-to-head battle with both Sheffield United and Luton this term having lost 4-1 at Bramall Lane and 3-1 at Kenilworth Road, is that goals scored are factored in before the head-to-head record." - which sounds a bit odd given we've scored more goals than them currently.

Edit: just realised to end level we'd need to draw and them win so they probably would be on same or more goals than us.

If goals scored and goals against is equal what comes next ? We win the head to head.

We have a +2 goal difference advantage over Boro and have scored +1 more goal. So if we draw 0-0 with Fulham, and Boro win 2-0 at PNE, then Boro finish above us on goals scored. If we draw 1-1, and they win 2-0, then we finish above them on the 'head-to-head' cos GD and GS will be equal

Yep, at 2-0 we'd have to draw 1-1, 3-1, would beed to be 2-2 and so on. It's something to worry about after 90 minutes on Saturday. We've just got to go for the win over Fulham to take it out of Middlesbrough's reach

Been posted elsewhere, head to head would suffice in that case. However, if that was the same then a playoff for 6th place would ensue.

I’m sure i’ve heard in the past that, incredibly, discipline comes into it before a play off; so which team had the fewest yellow & red cards.

Forest, Blackpool, Preston……….🤦🏻‍♂️
Yeah we’ve dropped a few points but for me the pick of the bunch are Reading and Preston. I’m sure Boro have some games to look back at as well, perhaps one being at the Lane not so long ago !

Makes the ludicrous last minute loss at home to Reading all the more frustrating, this should be over now.

The perfectly fine goal against Blackpool is the one that I will point to.

Conceding a late goal is part and parcel of football. Having a legitimate ( and crackng ) goal ruled out vs Blackpool is something totally out of our control. As is conceding a penalty that wasn't even in the fucking box vs Bournemouth.

People keep saying these bad things even themselves out over a season. If someone could give me the nice long list of controversial decisions that have gone in our favour because I'd love to see it.

Don't forget the penalty we should have had a home to Bournemouth.

There's a distinct lack of positivity in some of these threads...

.... and just to clarify the situation, current form is WIN WIN DRAW DEFEAT DRAW for us and Boro.

im alot more confident after trading this as it would take huge cock up as we ca still finish 5th even losing. & odds are in favour even with a draw

our biggest game of the week is game we arent playing as. on paper Forest win the playoffs at a canter. they are far superior. look at what they did to Leicester in 30 mins in FA Cup
