Mindset can be a very powerful thing. If done right.
Thinking back to the 2008 season I was in charge of an under 11's team that needed just one win from 5 to secure league victory.
Our next match was against bottom of the league, they struggled to put 11 players out every Sunday and had shipped almost 200 goals in 18 games.
The night before the match I took the team out on the town. 7 of them died of alcohol poisoning before the sun rose, and out of the other 9, 4 became permanently disabled needing 24hr life long care. I was fine and we put a team of 3 out, but they just weren't up for it and disgraced us with a total lack of effort, losing 1-0.
I stepped down for the last 4 matches as basically the board wanted me to take all blame.
They didn't play those last 4 matches and the team folded. I spent just over 2 years in prison and took some awful beatings in there. Even had molten sugar poured over my groin. And all because the little fucking chavs believed they could handle hard liquor by the pint, when they couldn't.
Self belief if a very powerful tool, if the players are on board and aren't complete cunts, like mine were. :/

Blades medical staff living up to there reputation

What to do with a team ravaged by injuries down to the bare bones with 2 games left in the season

Send them go karting

Next week there going to Ukraine for some paint balling 🤷‍♂️

I don't know a single person who's ever been injured at go-karting. I'm the world's shittest go-karter and even I, with my numerous spin-offs and crashes, has never actually hurt myself.

Just a good job we sold moose and mcburnie has not been on the ale

Wonder why a few weren’t present, that aren’t injured? Didn’t see Norwood, for example.

Charlie Goode was there too, which was a surprise.

I've been on that track in the video. Halfway through the race a damp patch developed on the track. I hit it (as I was miles in front), spun 180 and got absolutely smashed into by the kid in second. Wow. That hurt. Jarred my back. They actually cancelled the party after such was the issue with the damp.

We went go-karting in Sunderland for my stag do years ago. My Brother is crap at it and spun off into the side of a mate of mines kart at a right lick. My mate smashed his knee bone into the steering column of his kart. The same knee he had dislocated a few years before in a football incident. His leg swelled up like a balloon to the point where he put his 'going out' jeans on before we left the track in case they didn't fit him when he got to the hotel.

I took the kids karting in Bulgaria when we went on holiday a few years ago. My youngest was only 9 so they said they've govern his kart down a bit. It was on the first chicane when I realised they hadn't. The deciding point was when he failed to negotiate the second bend and continued straight. Across the grass. Through a fence and into a field. Was I scared? Absolutely shitting myself. His Mother would've gone apeshit 😂

Yeah? That's nothing.

Last time I was there I was bombing it round and someone had left this ramp out. They all said, "If he hits that, he's dead". So I hit it and rolled over in the air a few times and they said, "Now he is definitely dead". Then I just landed on my wheels and pulled over next to them and said, "What were you worried about?".

total jism and I'm the poor gonad that's going to have to sod about with them

I quite like the (clearly bonkers) idea that it’s Utd’s medical team who organise stuff like the players going karting.

Presumably the nutritionist books the coach for away games, and it’s the bloke who cuts the grass that sorts out the catering contracts with Compass. :)

Oh yeah, im not disputing what Hecky said, I just don't think Hecky is ITK.
Given he's still hurting having been given a cart he dubbed a slug, I'd say the memories are well etched in his mind.
But yeah, there's no real reason he would be itk, that I know of.
