Berge motm

I’d say MGW was motm, but Berge a close second. Very good today.

I still remember people trying to say he was a Norwood type deep play maker. I want what they are on.

That shot where he hit the post was so frustratingly laid back. I feel if it has any anger behind it he'd have scored!

He said in the interview afterwards that he was too knackered, so chose that option!

This thread proof positive a lot of fans know fuck all about what a good baller looks like !!

UTB

Berge- MGW - Bash - Robbinson all really good yesterday
Rest were bang average

He said he was playing the number 10 role today, it was brilliant seeing him drift across the whole pitch and influencing play on both sides.

I'd love to build the team around him in the 10 role with Ndiaye and MGW either side, with Rhian/Billy in front. Unfortunately we're stuck with 5 at the back for the foreseeable which won't allow it.

I hope the Norway manager eventually gives him a chance alongside Odegaard and behind Haaland as he's stuck as holding midfielder which he's clearly proved is not his most effective position

This is more of a general comment rather than one specific to yesterday but Berge continues to be a bit of an enigma. Very different style of player but it feels similar to Fleck. Sometimes you see him on the ball and he looks brilliant, taking the ball confidently past players, but he just doesn’t seem to have the consistent belief that top class midfielders seem to have. I don’t think Sander needs to become more nasty, but I totally agree with others about the need for more confidence. He should be one of the best players in the league. Feel like he just needs to have someone constantly drilling that into his head.

If you read the view from Cardiff you will see that they appreciate Berge much more than many of our fans seem to.

Funny that.

Aye, funny that a set of fans who saw him play very well for one game rate him higher than fans who see him every week, which includes good games and not so good games. If you read my post, I don’t say he’s bad, I’m just saying I wish he was always this good.

Man of the Match quite easily, yesterday, MGW was great, never stops trying, Wes was rock solid, Robinson also put in a great showing. MGW cross and Ndiaye header was the highlight, of course, but Sander had his "big boy" head on, took the ball from people's feet, players bounced off him like he was made of concrete, should have scored (of course) but he was head and shoulders (literally and figuratively) above all others on the pitch.

What we really saying about this lad?

I'm saying he's shown 2nd half of this season that he's too good for this league 🤷🏽‍♂️

He's settled down, got fitter and adapted to this league. Been an absolute beast of late, we'll miss him if we don't get promoted.

I think he's excellent but I've said that all along.

I do also think that his ability to impact ratio has been disappointing at times.

Very talented player with some unique abilities which we need to enjoy because until/unless we become a top flight club again, we won't routinely see.

Still very frustrating for me. Has the ability to rip this league a new one but not the attitude to go with it. Should have scored 3 tonight.

His value is definitely on the rise

He's Norwegian!
He plays for the Blades with John Egan!
Back in the Premier League for next season!
He is Sander Berge!! . . . . . Etc etc.

Surely he deserves a big rendition of this adaptation next Saturday given how he's performed lately?!
He needs to feel the love!!

The problem has always been fitness.
No preseason. Thrashed to death until he broke down. Thrashed again in two to three games weeks despite having nowhere near the fitness levels to play that program. Obviously saving himself in games due to this, severely impacting performance. When he plays in one or sometimes two game weeks ( the latter in the second half of the season) he dominates games and looks a class above. Thank the football Gods that we haven't broken him again.

Wasn't Sander signed regardless of what Wilder wanted?
Maybe I don't know. Did that go for McBurnie too? Freeman etc. Point is he got slated for transfer dealings. What price Jack Robinson now? Anyway CW is the past.

Can't remember who said it, but it normally takes a player roughly the same amount of time they were out injured for until they fully back up to speed playing again.
Which seems to be how it's going with Sander.
