I understand that. But their businesses publish accounts and they will be well known within their theatre of influence
I understand what and why you have suspicions. I know if it looks, feels and tastes like a melon it probably is a melon, but unlike the Bury guy where is was blatantly obvious he was a wannabe, we have nothing on this one yet to say that.

Nevermind all this bollocks about whether he’s a con man or not.

Are we sure we want to be owned by a titch?

ITK 🚨 Just had an audio clip sent to me of a phone call during which Debby at the EFL is heard saying “Normally I’d approve this Mr. Mauriss but we’re tightening things up of late and I can’t sign this off when you live in a house like that…” DEAL OFF.
Was it from Infinity Rocket Plastics?
Was it a WAV or an MP3?

Bert has no idea how much money this guy has, but he does know that the only person in the world who knows how much money Bert has is Bert.

He also observes that The Prince is a very competent businessman, he's not stupid enough to agree a sale with a man who doesn't have the funds to pay him.

I'd be happy to be proven wrong. But if he's anything other than a front man there is zero evidence he's got the money to fund it. The best evidence of success I can find are a couple of US company reg sitesstating Clear TV turned over $21m in 2021

So the bid has been accepted, it's a case of being ratified and I guess ticking and signing things. Sounds fairly likely to happen at this stage.

So......

What does Henry Mauriss think is so appealing in buying us then?
These businessmen who take over clubs like ourselves are usually mainly about being the PL and achieving something.
You have to get there first of course too.

Is he interested in improving the stadium and training facilities? Will he decide that we need a different manager? Will he release some money for signings or loads of money and gamble on going up like so many owners do and many fail (If we don't go up).

The questions I guess are nearly endless, I guess for now we see if it even happens and then presumably he will address the fans/club in a press conference etc down the line?

One thing that may well happen though, we might be sponsored by Clear TV Media....

We have a family friend who would more than comfortably make the Times Rich List. They are not showing on the list and you won't find out their wealth on google or anywhere else. They got it all very legitimately (started businesses and sold them on) and could comfortably afford to buy United at that price. They a number of properties around the world, none is worth less than £3m. Problem is he's a West Ham fan.
Would this family friend be interested in advancing me a few £100k, while I move my bank from Lagos to the UK? Just a temporary cash flow problem you understand.

There are no secret billionaires conducting legal activity is probably more appropriate
Closer, but still not entirely true.

As I said elsewhere, we still don't know if he's using all his own funds (or any at all), to finance this. Perhaps it's a front for someone else, or other party/parties? The detail on the deal rightly kept to those who have made the the decision to accept. Those people are the Prince (a man with good network, especially in California) and his advisors (one of which is a Partner at Jones Day).

Under the Prince, we seem to run a tight ship when it comes to few rumours coming out, so I wouldn't take all that's being reported in the press as the full picture.

I guess what I am getting it, is if normal people are able to Google this guy and raise valid questions, presumably the selling party of Sheffield United have at least done the same?

Although £120m is lint on the pocket change of anyone with serious money.

£120m to bail and run for the dunes isn't a big ask really.

N.B. Neither I nor anyone I know has that sort of money!

To be fair, most of our previous chairmen have sold to folk with bugger all funds 😀

No doubt they'll have done their due diligence on his ability to raise the purchase price if this is indeed a real bid (I have my doubts). My point is and always has been that there is not only no evidence that he could fund it himself but strong evidence that he can't

Wouldn't surprise me one jot if he's a front for the Qatari's wanting their piece of English football now they've seen the Saudi's get in the game

Doesn't make sense for the front man to be so secretive! Doesn't even have a photo on his LinkedIn.

He certainly has Money, besides selling Credit America Corp for over £1 billion in 2010.

"Throughout his career, Mauriss has purchased, converted and resold over £5.36billion ($7bn) in receivables through portfolio trades.

His exact net worth is not known at this time, but he has reportedly launched a bid of £350million for Newcastle."

When you say evidence, you mean the Internet I assume?

My approach to this is to ignore all the cyber detective crap.

What is fact is that this guy was involved in the Newcastle sale, which eventually went to the Saudis. What that means is that he was either part of some devious Saudi negotiation strategy, or they will have been all over him, and know who his grandmother was shagging in the war!

So if the Saudis know all about him and PA has “accepted” his offer this bloke is either part of their strategy again, or they think that he is reliable enough to come up with the funds.

Is it possible that PA still wants the club, but can’t appear in Saudi Arabia to own it, and so “ghost owners” are being created so that PA can keep his toy?
