Jerry “I’m the GM” Jones getting into bed with anyone else makes little to to no sense.

£110 million 🤥

Why would Jerry Jones be heading up a consortium, when he’s a multi billionaire, he would buy us outright for his family. That’s of course if it the Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones and not some other.

More like Jerry Lewis.

Checking the OP's posting history

Didn't happen. Went to Watford for £3.5m last summer.

We signed Brewster but nobody else. Lundstram stayed.

Blessin stayed at Oostende before moving to Genoa in January. Bätzner is still in Belgium.

Wallace still at Millwall. Oli Burke didn't go to Boro in August, he went to Millwall in January. Only Gibbs-White joined on loan and that was from Wolves, rather than Man U or Man City.

Unsurprisingly, neither of these happened.

These could have happened. Burnley did end up signing Weghorst from Wolfsburg, we recalled Jebbison ("the young lad") from Burton and Berge stayed (despite the below)

Berge was apparently going to join Serie A minnows Venezia for €22m despite their record signing being Gianluca Busio for €6m. Venezia were 17th when this was posted, they're now 18th and six points from safety. Egan, unsurprisingly, didn't go anywhere.

Conclusion: someone is spinning WisewBlade89 a yarn.
Why isn't this thread in rumours?
Can always be moved here if there is any reality here

Jerry Jones doesn’t sound at all likely- it’s almost like his name has been plucked randomly for the OP by googling “us sports and rich owners”

(Prepared to apologise if Jerry does come bounding into BDTBL but suspect I may not have to worry)

What is your problem with £110m?
Wilder spent more than that on transfers, many are still here plus existing squad.
It includes ground, hotel, academy etc.
I think that was the price McCabe had lined up with the investors had he won the court case, I could be wrong on that.

Most who's value has notably depreciated or are at the end of contract.

I'd be genuinely surprised at that value on the basis of us remaining a Championship club.

However, if that is the case, fair play to the Prince.

He's pulled a masterstroke and done what he said he hoped to do in the beginning.

Been told there have been multiple bids for the club , HRH Prince wants £110 Milllion

Ashley & An American consortium lead by an American Jerry Jones

HRH Hopes to sell by the start of next summer

All what I have been told not gospel 👍
Some posters really like attention. I dont mind people weighing in with the odd I've heard this & that, I did it once and was completely wrong in the end but this is consistent

Jim Jones would be more in line with United!

For those who don't know what I'm referring to:

All joking aside , the Blades have to be an attractive proposition to a potential big money buyer don't they? particularly as some other clubs with a lot less to offer than us have managed it. Surely with our big fan base , tradition , and recent Premier league pedigree, someone must see the enormous potential there is here.

Potential yes but no more so than a decent amount of other clubs United are probably comfortably in the third tier of English clubs possessing a good fan base and history but not exceptional in either. The top tier having big fan bases and great historic achievements and the second tier like Villa and Newcastle having big fan bases.

We're a relatively low debt club though, and we turned a profit during covid. We're a fairly clean break for prince and a clean slate for a new owner. Investment needed...yes. Debts to clear? Not really. And the debts we do have look to be wiping their own nose with the parachute payments.

Yeah I’m not saying we’re not an attractive proposition just that we’re in a cluster of similarly sized mostly midlands/northern clubs.

May be correct, but many of them already have wealthy owners and aren't available for acquisition

True but outside of Leicester I can’t think of many who have come in to any of those clubs and really built. Wednesday complete chaos, Forrest mixed bag but he’s another nutter, Derby looked good but has left them in the shit, Leeds it’s gone ok but that’s mainly off the back of Bielsa and they’re now up for sale, Burnley sold off to venture capitalists, Cardiff another nutter, Swansea sold of to an American investment fund Burnley style, Middlesbrough solid chairman doing a decent job, Sunderland basket case.

Some of those clubs have thrown cash around and some haven’t but none other than Leicester have been what I’d call good owners who’ve transformed the club. We’d definitely attract a buyer were it made known we were for sale but not sure we’d get attract a transformative new owner.

True, more bad owners than good, but I think we have to roll the dice. The Prince can't afford to run us in the championship. He can't afford a promotion push. Hopefully he has our interests in mind if he is selling and isn't just looking to line his pockets. He knows what we're about now as a club and I'd like to think he will sell us responsibly

We do have to secure additional funding as a matter of urgency to stabilise the club in whatever form that comes be that a sale or the prince finding partners.
