Simon Jordan - got McCabe right, getting Wilder right

Are you for real? Who is going to buy any of those 3 right now for anywhere near what we paid?

Oh, and you forgot to put FACT at the end to prove you're right- I presume that was an oversight?

That was a typo i meant gone down

Simon Jordon is absolutely bang on….Wilder thought he was devine at United. The fact is he wasted £102m…just let that sink in….Dyche spent £21m and kept Burnley up for 6 seasons. Wilder did great getting us up but his big money signings were all wrong….as was his attitude in the second season.

Two things about this thread.

1: Actually, not one of us knows the fine detail of discussions and disagreements between Widler and the board. It’s all speculation and guesswork.

Sometimes, this guesswork is based on sleuthing through the publicly available evidence. More often, it’s bollocks based on partisanship, bullshit and prejudice

2: Leon. Christ knows I love that man. A genuine Blades hero, for ever and a day. He should be eternally enshrined as the Lion of Hillsborough, and he performed miracles for us at key moments during our rise.

But comments on this and other recent threads cast him as something akin to Baggio or Shearer. Whereas Leon, really, was a journeyman striker, much of whose ‘journey’ was spent with middling and mediocre clubs, who had a magical purple patch while with us, but who, even during that spell when he performed heroic feats, remained firmly in touch with his inner donkey.

Leon Clarke. One of my most favourite Blades players ever. But bizarrely over-hyped in Wilder-era revisionism.

We'd still be in the Prem now with Adams, DCL, Ramsdale etc tearing it up.

That statement is very doubtful

With regards to DCL I dont think he would have developed as well here as he did at Everton he may have become a good Championship striker some of the Everton fans are very pissed off with him this season

Adams didnt want to be here he also had issues off the pitch here but he looks as if hes sorted himself out

Ramsdale again probably wouldnt be here he would have gone to Arsenal due to a big increase in wages and a chance of silverware. His attitude since has been nothing short of a disgrace towards United not a player I would want at our club

Wilders transfer dealings were very suspect in the PL
Signs Freeman but hardly ever plays him
He goes after Swift didnt get him but doesnt go after a player that plays the same role
Didnt replace JOC
Signed Callum Robinson even though he didnt fit our system then goes and swaps him for Burke FFS
Then of course there is the signing of McBurnie
