I'm finding it hard to get too excited about the prospects for our end of season run in.

The last two games have shown just how easy it is (for limited teams not promotion chasers) to draw us onto them & seizing upon loose possession or failed flicks & tricks - expose our lack of athleticism in midfield recovery and pace at the back to slice through us.

With the lack of wide overloads it totally exposes how we also don't have a single midfielder who is a threat to score from the edge of the box unlike most teams. Count the goals from midfield (and compare with others).
So with no aerial threat either from a clipped or whipped cross - we constantly try to score a perfect goal.

Please God I'm not advocating a return to alehouse footy - but it is easy to see that we are far too predictable in our play and that our midfield 3 are absolutely no help in trying to overcome the injuries to our strikers.

Let the Blades pass pass pass and then we will break passed the sludge runners and we will score on the fast break against exposed (and slow) CB's....

Hecky, please put a midfielder with some legs who can shoot from 18yds on the shopping list for next season in the Championship...

We've been waiting since 2004 for one of those

Can we have players with some degree of mobility and movement?

Or is that too much to ask in 2022.

We play some pretty football, but our build up is too slow. When Wes gets the ball his first thought should be to find someone wide near the halfway line. And I don't just mean a Simon Tracey big boot. Bristol did it many times in the 2nd half yesterday. Needs a mindset change...
