Although we had a storming first half, and played out a very decent 3-1 win, i think the margin of victory would have been greater if we had kept hold of Darius Henderson, as i think he is twice the player than Chris Porter is.

Porter for me offers very little and missed a couple of great chances Darius would have buried. I also think Henderson would have offered us a different option to go aerial, and is a lot better all round than Porter.

Just a thought

Darius would have destroyed this league... as Ched is doing now. But alas, both players are at least good enough for the league above and so we were lucky to keep even one of them.

I doubt we'll get another big un this JTW, so the best we can hope for is Mr Beattie to start finding some sharpness. If he does, stays fit and there are no offers for Ched, then we could be in for a very exciting 2012.

They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone... But with Darius it was a bit like a disease.

Ched and Beats will do for me. :)

Thought Porter did well today to say hes only been warming his arse on a bench for several weeks
and lets not forget Henderson missed more clear cut chances in one game , boro at home that sent us down , than porters had so far

But Henderson would have won us a lot more points over the course of the season, than that wankstain we had up front last season Bogdanovic.

Thought Hendo did ok for us and yes I'm sure he'd do well in this division, but he was too expensive, too Poorly disciplined and injury prone. Glad he's gone and don't miss him at all. His awful battles with defenders cost us and made us very predictable up front.

Porter is awful. The only place he can score from is 1 yd. He was poor today but it was masked by an excellent team performance.

However, just because porter is crap is no justification for wanting Hendo back.

Fortunately we now have something up front with all the strikers, attacking midfielders and wingers - movement and intelligence. Just bin porter and we'll look a class act up front

Are you taking the piss?

It took Darius about 3 or 4 chances before he put the ball in the net and that's if he hadn't been sent off first.

Happy with BT, Evans and bob the bloody builder instead of Henderson.

He's done well to get 9 goals in the Championship this season then...

interesting wind up.. you must be bored mate.. porter had his best game in the shirt and justified his standing ovation. darius who?

Given that keeping Henderson would have probably meant us selling someone else due to his expense, I don't miss him at all. I doubt we'd have any more points than we do at present had we kept him.

Jordan Slew made his debut in Blackburn's win at Man United today - I don't miss him either.

Yep, great wind-up....the carthorse that was Henderson, (along with Blackwell & Splay footed twat, (TM Big Mart) Monty) were everything that was WRONG at BDTBL. We have got rid of 2, the third is warming the bench and hopefully in a taxi up the M1 befor the end of Jan...

Henderson? He might be the answer, if the question is "Name a big galumphing buffoon who managed an equal goals to cards tally last season. And he's called Darius, for fuck's sake."

Last season, Henderson played a grand total of 8 games and scored 2 goals. He also managed two cards - one yellow and one red. 21 players managed more appearances than our Darius. The season before he made 30 starts and 5 substitute appearances and scored 12 goals, second to Cresswell's tally of 14, with the only appearance difference being one more sub appearance on Darius's chart. Henderson was however top of the baddie list again, with a total of 95 fouls against, 6 yellows and 1 red. Four more players got more yellow cards, but Henderson had the only red of the season, and he committed most fouls, which for a striker is ridiculous.

In the 08/09 season he was similarly the player to have committed the most fouls, and he got two reds, 40% of the total for the season for the squad. He committed 90 fouls from his total of 29 starts and 7 excursions from the bench. Chris Morgan, harder than diamond and tougher than my mother-in-law's Sunday roast, from 46 starts and one sub appearance made 63 fouls. And he's a defender. They're supposed to make the odd foul.

You can't even judge Henderson on the number of assists he managed - in the 09/10 season he made a grand total of one assist. One. Toni Kallio made twice that, and I thought he was an ice-cream man from Rotherham. One assist all season. Glen Little, a pensioner now working as the Gruffalo's stunt double, made five. Monty made three times the number of assists. Monty! Incidentally, Porter has made three assists this season.

He was much more sinner than sinned against. Do we miss him? No. He's not complete rubbish, but he's a liability. He committed too many fouls, got too many cards, and didn't score enough goals. Porter might not be the answer - he's had 15 starts and 9 sub appearances, for 6 goals with 21 fouls and 2 yellows, but he doesn't have the ability Henderson has of making referees wave cards around like a mad magician.

All the stats above are from the OS. Except the one about Glen Little's new job.

Only the writer of the thread 'we must keep (worst manager in the history of SUFC, pathetic like a rabit in the headlights, ale house ...) Micky Adams' (after he spectacularly relegated us last season) could come up with this. Paying Henderson the best part of 20k a week to sit on a treatment table in the third tier would be great for us. I don't think I need to say anything after SV's eloquant description of 'Mr VFM'. The only possible explanation (other than being a numpty that knows nowt about footy) is that he has a tattoo of Big Darius somewhere. It's in the ink they say.

Darius would have run amok in this division but bearing in mind him and Chedders cost a combined £5m they bloody ought to. I'm getting a bit tired of Ched being the new messiah when had he and several other overpaid arseholes performed in the first place, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

As for Porter, I'm afraid thats where we are. League 1 and that attracts players of a like ability. If we stay in League 1 by the way, Porter will stay while Ched and co will be off. So best we get promoted eh?

A joke I just made up:

Q. What was the difference between Darius Henderson and piles.

A. Piles responded to treatment.

**clunk**

Time for a crocks XI - players who saw more of the physio than they saw of their wives:

8. John Ebbrell
9. Darius Henderson

France played RB or right midfield, so I putting him at RB so we can put John McGeday (2 broken legs in a round a year) at right wing. Also Tom McAlistar (3 broken legs in 2 years I believe) in goal

Michel Vonk and Paul McGrath at centre half?

Good ones
