He was terrible yesterday imo trying tricks all the time he did fuck all I can see why he's not a wolves starting player now,at first it was brilliant but now his tricks are easy to read.

I think most people would struggle up top with McBurnie and relying on a midfield too immobile (Norwood), too casual (Hourihane) and lacking in skill (Osborn) to support. That’s not necessarily a criticism of the latter three, but that’s not the strikeforce we need when we have those forwards. Sadly, we have few choices.

Tl;dr - MGW needs someone like Billy. They’re just a better fit.

Ndiaye, I really like, and would have stuck with him. however he was poor the last couple of matches that he started, but both him and MGW can do that little bit of magic than can make a difference. MGW, was the ONLY player on the pitch yesterday that was trying to do something, or make a clever pass . I don’t think he deserved to be slagged off like you have put on your first post. He got Zero help from anyone around him!

Can't fault his effort, he does seem to think he has to do a flash turn or flick every possession he has.
He has been good, however I think the team was better when he wasn't in it. Not a criticism of him, just an observation. Not sure if he is trying too hard or the team just sit back and wait for him to do something. Sometimes teams pull together much better when the star turn is missing.

Nothing against Ndiaye, he’s a talent, but I can only assume you’ve posted this for someone to bite, and I’ll gladly take the bait...

MGW is pretty much the reason we are in with a play off shout, yes the defence has been decent since Hecky took over and obviously Billy has had yet another good season, but without Gibbs White were probably looking at a 12-15th place finish.

I know our recent foray into the premier league had its ups and downs but MGW is better than any player we had when we were there.

He is infuriating at times as to which Trotter he is. Harlem Globe or Del Boy. All I know is that without him we would be in the lower half of the league at the moment, certainly not in a play off position.
He needs the right coach to develop him and I don't think we have that coach in our club
You can tell he loves playing the game but there are times during matches when it seems quite clear he doesn't have the confidence in the quality of player around him which sad to say is understandable, instead of the pass he should make, he goes on a run and the opposition end up winning the ball
There have been lots of youngsters like him who showed the same promise at his age who just fizzled out, Ravel Morrison to name just one

Hit and miss like a winger, on his day he’s unplayable and has bags of potential with age on his side but still has a lot to learn if he wants to break in to that Wolves team like keeping the ball better. I don’t get the major love in for him but I’d like to see him back here next season but very doubtful.

half the time he makes the wrong decision at critical times. Seems to think 2nd division players can read his world class flicks that go wrong 50% of the time. When all we need is an Osborn simple pass

You can often tell early on if he's "on it" or not. Yesterday he wasn't quite there but I'd argue that was more down to the team selection.

I mentioned in the match thread about how MGW and Ndiaye looked brilliant together and had a proper understanding in the Peterborough game where they tore them a new one, and it looked like the beginning of an awesome and entertaining partnership. Unfortunately theyve barely had a minute on the pitch together since then, for whatever reason.

I also think we could be a lot more adventurous and attack minded but we're still stuck with 5 at the back as it's the only system our players know and can play. Ideally a 4-2-3-1 would play to our attacking strengths but we've got too many wingbacks to change. I'd love to see something like (based on current availability):

Wes
Baldock - Bash - Egan - Stevens
Norwood - Hourihane
Berge - MGW - Ndiaye
Sharp

But the pieces don't fit and it'll cost a lot to replace them with ones that do.

I know mattbianco1 mentioned on the other thread he's in a bit of a lull for him.

I suppose he's like any young player. He needs to learn when and where to do things. At present he's not quite getting that balance right and there is no Billy there banging in the half chances to cover up for it.

Our manager, who is apparently useless despite taking a team of injured has-beens up to a playoff spot, even said that's the area of his game he needs to work on. Knowing when to try something and when to retain possession.

If he knew that already, he'd be playing for Wolves.

I've got nowt against hecky I think him stu and Jack have done a magnificent job this thread was more about mgw thinking he's Zidane when in reality he int,gibbs as the potential to be a great player but without Billy he looks lost
