Would it have been good for the players to have gone away for a short holiday just to recharge their ever draining batteries, and come back Monday.

You will have seen the Shirecliffe training video at the end of last week,PH was making them train hard, running etc.

Many have. Hecky said in an interview last week that some would be having a proper break, some would be on international duty and some would be training properly.

Assuming that's based on where they are fitness wise, recovery wise etc etc

Anyone have an idea what hotels the players are staying in on which resorts?

Stuart McCall is stopping at Linton's Travel Tavern.

Wes Foderingham is on a Hamiltons Water Break in Norfolk.

Billy Sharp, Chris Basham and Jonny Fleck have got their arses down to Long Stanton Spice Museum.

Got it on good authority, that Jack Robinson is in caravan 127, Norwood in caravan 342, and Wes in caravan 351, on the Coastfields site in Ingoldmells.

Ozzy said they were common going on there, so he opted for Chapel-st Leonard's instead.

I’ve heard they have had a great time and met up to have a friendly race on go karts. Ozzy came first followed by a tight call between JLT and Fodders. Norwood came last as he fucked up all corners …….Al get mi coat

I never have, and never will understand the logic of going on a 'holiday' to have 'a break'.

Every single holiday, that I have ever been on, bar none, I have come back home more exhausted and fed up than before I went. That includes some where I have stayed in some fairly swanky spots too.

The whole business of preparing to travel, then slumming it through airports at either end, combined with the succession of irritating homo sapiens that I am forced to interact with along the way, has made me conclude long ago, that my time off work is best spent staying local and going for long lonely walks.

But getting back to the football, I suspect that even a week of hard training at Shirecliffe is infinitely more relaxing than playing 2 games a week, with training in between.

Love swanky spots, me.

Business or first class on planes and at airports makes a huge difference.

Private jets, even more so. Just pull up at the private hanger, quick passport check, someone else does the bags and they even seem to avoid the queue for the runway.

A bit faster in the air as well. Highly recommended.
