Obviously we have to go up and the Prince has to play ball but how much would you pay? 20 Mill? 30? 40?😂
Somehow I think North of 20 minimum

I don't think you get his phone number for 20 million.

30 million at least, especially if he gets double figures goals & assists, which he will.

Not close to wolves first team. Reasonably we could offer £10m straight up and then an add on if we stay up and maybe a 10٪ sell on clause.

Hypothetical unless we go up

Wolves in 8th position and pedro Neto just signed a new contract still 2027 today. Suggests to me that they’re looking to push on from this and hopefully will be looking to cash in on MGW now whilst his value is at its highest that it’s been at. If we get promoted we should 100% be paying the £20-£25m it’ll cost because I only seen his valuation increasing and can almost guarantee we’ll make more money on him. If not, definitely a loan with an option to buy (if we’re in the prem next season that is).

Even if he's available for around £25m there's no way we'd get him. A Villa , Brighton, Southampton type club would come in for him and blast us out of the water with wages. Our best bet is for Wolves to still want to keep him but loan him to us for another season.

Depends on the thoughts of Prince A, which is very difficult to gauge now he's disappeared into the backwater. If we get promoted he may from past experience just decide to take the money, no major cash injection into the first team squad and be quite content to become a Norwich.

I'm pretty sure if Wolves wanted to sell him, which I doubt, there would be a whole host of EPL clubs after him.

We can't afford the fee
We can't afford the wages
He's not going to sign for us

Wages are the other massive issue of course for players of the quality of MGW, not just the transfer fee. We saw that last time. I do think our potential signings were limited by what the likes of villa were prepared to offer in wages, not just fees. Means we’re fishing in a different pond and hello McBurnie.

£15 million maximum if he is still uncertain of a first team place at Wolves

If he is, then what's the point talking about it

Even if Utd do somehow manage to get up, I very much doubt they'd splash £20m+ on any players again. More likely would be 2-3 perm signings at much lower costs, supplemented by a number of expensive loans for younger players from top clubs.

In terms of MGW, Utd will not be able to make either Wolves or the player the best offer they'll receive. Therefore, I agree with Snake that another loan would be the only way he'll return

Palace paid £15m for Eze after a season in which he scored 14 and provided a further 8 assists. They're similar players with similar outputs so the fee for Eze gives a guide. Add in a PL selling club premium, subtract a bit for Gibbs-White being older and a fee in the region of £15-20m is fair. More than that is a bit desperate (cf John Brantford), less would be a great deal.

Well if McBurnie and Brewster are worth over 20 mill one can assume he is worth over 30 mill plus his wages must be above our fixed in stone limit. So there is no chance that we could buy him. Wish the Prince could prove me wrong but just can;t see it happening, Lets just enjoy him while he is here,

The transfer fee is only one element of a deal though BB - Eze made it abundantly clear that he wished to remain in London when he left QPR. Palace also offered him ~£60k/week which I'm sure helped persuade him. Utd may well look to raise the wage structure significantly instead of splashing out on higher transfer fees if they manage to get up (in additional to securing loans for better players over spending so much on top Champ level players) but MGW would still be a very expensive deal to do, with there being a high risk that another side would value / offer him more than Utd would.

He will command wages and terms even Uncle Turry wouldn’t agree to

I can see them cunts at Villa buying him at the end of the season if Wolves don’t want to keep him.
I very much doubt we will see him in a blades shirt again after this season which is a terrible shame.

The Athletic have today reported that MGW was given the chance to return to Wolves but chose to stay with us, for dedicated followers of the Sheff United Way YouTube channel you'll already know that we covered this already. It is absolutely true that when MGW was back with Wolves receiving treatment his return was touch and go which is why he only came back to Sheffield after the transfer window closed.

Trouble is, they aren’t.

Where is the evidence of an unwillingness to pay competitive wages? Let’s see what happens. We ain’t got Wilder in the chair anymore.
