Still No Jebbison

It is a very strange one which I cannot understand for the life of me. He can’t even get five minutes off the bench. Why not give him a start ahead of McBurnie for a few games? If he doesn’t score a single goal he will not have have done any worse than him. These last few weeks he could have continued his development at Burton instead of being recalled and playing zero minutes.

He had hit form at Burton and a head of steam, that’s now all been lost, League 1 is not a huge step up to the Championship !!

I can understand Hecky not bringing him on when we're winning and holding on, or fighting for an equaliser or winner when we're looking likely to get one. But today we looked like neither. He could've brought him on and given him some vital experience. It's not like Billy or McBurnie were ever going to score today, even when Berge and MGW had come on. Waste of a recall. He'd benefit more from staying at Burton and actually playing.

Whe we're chewing over the bones of Hecky's downfall, maybe this nonsense will feature.

He’s shit at making subs, he waits far too long, 20 mins for berge to do something as soon as he came on the game was in our hands

It’s okay you saying that; but Heckingbottom, who is professionally employed in this field, (apologies to you if you are; as i have no clue if you are) has said in a recent interview that the gap is huge.

Maybe he thought we weren't creating chances/we weren't creating chances

I would be in favour of giving him more game time. I am not expecting miracles but it would be beneficial to him and us to give him more minutes.

Can be no worse than Mcburnie, infact, Jack Lester would probably be better than Mcburnie.....

Jebbo is raw, lacking in physicality and the gap is indeed huge, so he’ll play very little.

Realistically he’s been brought back as contingency cover for any further injuries or suspensions, to our already depleted forward line.

If we miss out on the play offs it won’t be down to Jebbo not playing.

McB is hardly the finished article, infact he doesn't even look like a talented raw striker.. Therefore, Jebbo is a better option between the two.

I had a dream in January that we’d recalled him!!!
I had a dream that we were laughing on Friday that Guediora had signed for shitty Burton Albion, explaining how poor a player he must be.
Then, the next minute, our fans were fawning over a striker who scored a few goals for the very same club.

Maybe the people who see him in training, with the rest of the team, might have more of an idea whether he'd be a better option upfront?

Playing as a striker is playing as part of a team. Positioning, runs, hold-up play etc etc. He's did ok at Burton but in a different role as a lone striker.

Playing every midweek means that there's much less training time for him to get integrated into the team. It'll be mostly about matchday prep.

Really? McBurnie helps out massively defensively as the stats show in terms of headers won in our own box.

He’s a nuisance McBurnie and if you’re a Millwall centre half who do you fancy marking?

That said as others suggested why not throw him on after 70 minutes yesterday against a tired defence, especially as the current option was held? We had nothing to lose.

McBurnie is a strange one, I’ve never rated him yet his record as said loads of times was good before he joined. He’s had injuries, illness, off field distractions, etc. and he’s our player. We can’t sell him for peanuts so we’re stuck with him. Wilder contributed to his malaise I hope and prey Heggie can work some magic here.

Finally he must, surely, he must show something during the week in training to get selected at all?

Also to play devil’s advocate, say we lose to the scabs and wilder FC, then we’re pretty much done.

At that stage - or when it happens - we give him the last 10 games to properly judge Jebbo??

I'm not commenting regarding his defensive quality and help around. I'm talking purely as a STRIKER and goals.. Jebbo is more on form regarding scoring so judging based on what is needed as a striker.

True, no argument there, goals are the only currency that matters in football. Today’s obsession with possession, shots, completed passes, etc. can paint misleading scenarios.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than Jebbo being thrown in on Friday and scoring, I just can’t see it happening, for as long as we’re in the play off picture which is the catch-22 of course.

Out of interest who would you ideally play him with up front? Not much choice I know, Sharp I guess?

And never played again 😞

Maybe the bloke who watches him everyday doesn’t think he's as good as the fans that have seen him for a handful of minutes
Well, maybe.

But he watches McBurnie every day and wheels him out for reasons they are not obvious.

To begin with, we gave a player away in Moose who would do more in 20 minutes than McB would do in 10 games!
Jebbo needs to be given a chance.
