Baldock's goal

Fair play to Baldock, I've been critical in the past of Baldock going forward but he's never let us down, a snip at £500,000 and he deserves his run in the side now. Great goal and a celebration that fellow full back Martin Pike would have been proud of for fans that remember his time with us!

Agreed bar the run in the side bit. Bogle did nothing to warrant being dropped, he’s simply injured. It’s still his shirt for me.

Did Baldock only cost half a mill? I thought it was more than that. Brilliant value for money.

Watched this a number of times and can’t quite work it out..

Does he strike it with the laces or the inside of the foot. If it’s the latter it’s even more impressive

Me neither, it's the little hop that throws me. I think he hits hit with the inside of his foot.

I’d like to think he read my thread earlier this week and upped his game…. in fairness what an answer , well done furious !!
Said in his post match interview that Hecky being pushing him to get into the box alot more (aka be a bit more like bogle ghosting in the box)

Since he's come back from injury he's done exactly that. once with a pass to assist Sharp against WBA from inside the box and again yesterday with a volleyed goal from inside the box.

Long may it continue

Of note also in this thing of beauty is the (minimum) 16 passes on the deck that lead to the goal. The ball travels from the left wing, opposition half, via our defence, including a nice sub-Cruyff turn from JLT and the keeper involved in moving it on. Bash takes it quite close to our right-side corner flag, and moves it up the right wing to a lovely 1-2 between Berge and MGW and then it goes back to the right wing where RND tees Furious up lovely. Really, really lovely build up to study.

There's a longer build up video on the club's YouTube channel. It bears repeated watching. Almost every player is involved. Only Norwood and Sharp missed out (I think). I have watched it over and over. It's just sublime.

That’s the best view yet and love the matrix style slow motion. He managed to levitate as well as hit it perfectly. A once in a lifetime finish.

Laces. Still an excellent in finish.
Hadn't appreciated that both feet were off the ground at the point of contact. Lovely stuff.

The last time i saw a goal scored like that was scored by Harvey Barnes from a similar position,at the time i thought why is it always oppo players that score wonder goals.

Then George scored his to put things right.

Notice how Norwood goes to Berge and Fleck first ,appreciating the build up.
