What's the missing tweet? And I thought Osama was dead?

Anyone who says "it's offensive".... Who to? You? Or offensive to someone you don't know but they maybe offended by it but you can't really know because you don't know these people?

That's how "offence" works nowadays.

His camel is rapid ⚔
they're offended on someone elses behalf. no one knows who this other person is, so i have come to the conclusion that it is a cheap way of making yourself the centre of attention. ymmv.

I share the point you're making. Humour has to be edgy to really work, but I feel this is quite a few steps too far..
Saying it is 'British humour' is using random generalisation to get agreement. Would it be acceptable for German fans to wear Hitler masks and Swastikas and claim it is German humour?
Germans have no sense of humour ime so they'd never even consider it. ok that was crass. they have a sense of humour but it is very simplistic. almost slapstick much like the Americans. British humour is self depracating. we take the piss out of 'ourselves'. the yanks and the Germans can't do that. it's not in their psyche, it would be tantamount to admitting inferiority. Our humour is much more multidimensional, it can almost titillate and offend at the same time, in fact i'd go as far as to say the idea of British humour is to offend someone as much as possible to see if 'they can take it' without getting mardy. That's just how we bond. it's how we roll.
Facing a difficult problem on an international conference call i was pulled aside by a project manager who asked me to stop making jokes because Hamburg office thought i wasn't taking it seriously.. i expained to him that is how we attack the problem in the UK by diminishing it. he understood (he was Polish) but the Germans didn't get it 'at all'.

so your question was: 'Would it be acceptable for German fans to wear Hitler masks and Swastikas and claim it is German humour?
it wouldn't cross their mind. if Hitler was British though ;) .. (in fact it we've already done it)

When I last looked we lived in a free world where people were free to express themselves in any way they pleased, as long as they were within the law. Others are free to have a different opinion, but not to say that the original action was wrong. If the club feels that wearing Bin Laden masks is bad for marketing purposes, then the club can ban it. I find wearing it a bit silly, but I am rapidly becoming a miserable old git and I certainly did much sillier things 40 or 50 years ago. However, it is absolutely none of my business to say that it shouldn’t happen.

It’s normally the more successful seasons the atmosphere improves obviously but we’re on a decent run, 6th and it’s still pretty quiet. Leeds, Forest, Derby all seem to be louder and their fans aren’t that far away from ours so I wonder what it is because my Wednesday mate says their home supports pretty quiet too.🤔

Well I thought it was pretty decent Saturday and I take into account the absolute dogs dinner of a season we’ve just had not to mention a really poor start to this.

We’re coming round in parallel to the team.

Who knew the two could be connected?

Do you go to the Leeds, Forest and Derby games often?

I’m basing it on what I’ve seen/heard on tv plus fan clips, it has been louder than ours this season imo, I think we should introduce the flags like what Forest have on their kop too.

Not having a dig btw people can support how they want it’s their money I just think in contrast to previous similar seasons with us it’s been better that’s all, maybe I’m been picky but just how I feel.

I'm all for flags and banners on the kop, it is about time we had a bit of colour on show before the games, it is a right load of bollocks needing a fire cert for a bleeding flag. I mean come on what the hell is there to burn on the kop? When we had Fenerbahce here their fans failed to set the lane upper tier on fire apart from one seat and they came armed with some powerfull flares and thunder flashes. It really is dull and a bit beige on the kop today hardly anyone even holds a scarf up now. The young un's would love being able to wave a flag before kick off and when we score.

Our supporters have learned not to get to cocky

A sizeable percentage of our fans, me included were still a bit worried at 3-0 because one goal for Swansea and the whole lot would have gone tits up.

We're just not allowed to relax, have fun, create an atmosphere, because as soon as we do the team will find a way of shutting us up

Totally get what you mean been a blade you can never get too cocky we’ve had more than our fair share of adversity but you’ve got to live for the moment right? I guarantee a rocking BL would see more fans come.

What’s happened to the huge flags we had that used to come out at Wembley and the Derby games on the odd occasion? Get those fuckers back out, I used to buzz back in the day as a kid when that went over you.😁
I think the SAG banned them.

I’ll be honest, I hate the flags when they go over the top of you and seem to just stay there for ages. It was in the days of people smoking in stadiums too though

“Brilliant, now I can’t fucking see anything or breath. Oh well, everyone else is having a nice time”

When I’m watching the game at home, I don’t dive under a duvet to add to the feels

I wish I could dive under a duvet at our play off final games.

Don't suppose you can see much of the game if you are stuck behind someone waving one of those bloody great things. It would be like staring at the Kop pillars after 10 pints of Magnet.

I was still praying that Norwood or Baldock wouldn't be sent off right up to Baldock's substitution just incase Swansea took advantage of the extra man.

I always think the TV coverage must place their microphones well and do something to amplify the sound. I've been to games that have been pretty quiet and then watched it back on the TV and it sounded like an amazing atmosphere. I'm not saying that those other teams haven't been louder than us though, it certainly has seemed a bit subdued home and away this season.

Even under Wilder the atmosphere was pretty dreadful most weeks. It's not a recent development. Bramall Lane has been a morgue for 10+ years now, with the odd exception.

I agree - roll on safe standing. I think it's the only cure

That is true. The real photo of that shows some proper lowlifes. 90% of them are middle aged men who should know better by now than to get wound up by football players. Probably the same ones who threw coins.

Half of them look like they would have thrown racial abuse at Maguire if he was black.
