Furthest distance travelled for a home game?

I travelled back from Melbourne especially to see us beat Mansfield Town 2-1 in Efl cup first round on 14 Aug 2014.

Maybe not of course.

Don't know what the fuss is about. I've got IPTV so I don't have to go anywhere. Furthest I've travelled to my sofa for a home game in the last few years is from the bottom of the garden. It's a big garden though. Reyt Blade!

I once did a 22,000 mile round trip to see the Blades on a pre-text of visiting family - my penance for this was to watch a 0-0 draw against PNE

I'm in the Norton area and we've been thinking of moving out of Sheffield and this is a big consideration. On Saturday I stayed to the final whistle, then brisk walk to the car, parked round the corner from the Crown and I was back in the house for 5.15

Well worth it for Andy Butlers only blades goal. I travelled all the way from Nether Edge for that one

I flew back from San Francisco to catch us in League One action, under Danny Wilson. Flown back from various places to watch us, but that one would have been the longest distance, I think.

were you driving a black merc ?

When 16 years of age ( long time ago ) got the ferry and subsequently train back from the isle of arran to attend the opening of the new south stand and the home debut of Chris Guthrie. What a waste that was although did have the pleasure of my girl friend for the rest of the week

No mate. Did someone cut you up or nearly run you over?
One was in such a hurry to get home that they piled through one of those priority to oncoming traffic junctions and responded to my look of amazement by giving me the finger. Obviously in a hurry to get home before he soiled himself. be funny if he failed. That was on the route up to Norton.

This thread is like the Four Yorkshiremen sketch after an intake of crack cocaine.

"Well we had it tough etc......."

When I first moved over to Ireland , in the eighties
I used to Ferry it over on a Friday night , get into Liverpool for 7.30 , hour long train trip to Manchester , then train it Sheffield
So started off 10.30 Friday night , got into Sheffield 11.30 Saturday morning
Then make reverse trip Sunday afternoon, straight into work Monday morning
For Ferry plus Return train fare cost 36 notes
A plane to Manchester cost 200 notes return back then only BA or Aer Lingus
Now fly Ryanair and depending on time - Manx clubs at home 40-80 notes , not including train tickets - food or ale
Not so easy as rambling down ta Lane from Norfolk park / Skyedge when I lived in Sheff
Used to do the regular walk fromSkye Edge to the Lane for Home games in the 60's/70's when I was younger, as I got older made a slight detour and used to pop into the Talbot pub on the corner of Talbot Road and Duke Street for a pint before the match. Not strictly in line with the OP but never one to miss a chance to reminisce!!!

Used to drive to every home match from Skeg Vagas when I had a caravan there stay at home on Saturday night and drive back down on a Sunday Memories

Why? We drew 1-1 with Derby who IIRC, were the current champions.

Season ticket holder despite living in Belgium for over 20 years...which, as my missus frequently points out, makes no sense at all.
COVID rules have made getting to BDTBL something of a challenge so I was delighted to pop over (overnight ferry from Rotterdam, drove back through the tunnel) for the Hull game...then the match kicked off and we all know the rest.
On the drive back my lad kept giving me that look, you know, the 'why the fuck do we do this?' look. Not sure what the answer is anymore!
I'm enjoying Hecky's version of the beautiful game (couldn't stand watching Jokanovic's football) but fear this will be our last ST . Reyt part-timer!

Well. I mean. You know. In early 2015, I made a trip to Australia for the AFC Asian Cup (the Asian "EUROs'), an England Cricket one day series and various Big Bash T20. On Sunday 1 February, I saw England lose by 112 runs to Australia at the WACA ground in Perth. On Monday 2 February I caught the 2205 flight from Perth. Arriving in Manchester at 1120 on Tuesday 3 February.
I was at The Lane that night for the 3-1 defeat to Preston North End. So, if you look at it one way, I traveled back from Perth, Western Australia to a home game. (I have the advantage of being able to look stuff like this up in my Diary Blog).

So cheaper by ferry and also the added bonus of more time away from the Mrs. 🤣
Ha , not this one mate , ‘‘twas a different lady friend 😂
But after Walsall at home have never taken a lass to any game
Did that trip once , got into Sheffield game off v Bradford

Leafy Buckinghamshire, closest place would be High Wycombe
I went to school in Wycombe. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm a southern Blade from age 6. Dad supports Blades.

My furthest... I guess was matches when I traveling from Brighton. The very worst example v Millwall in our last promotion season. Both ways, same day, on National Express Coach, circa 6am-midnight round trip.

Blowing that lead late on and seemingly blowing promotion. One of the most miserable days of my life, without any doubt.

Also I couldn't find a pub showing Leeds v Wednesday for some reason, so watched the first half on my own, on my phone, at Sheffield Taps. Miserable.
