Step up McBurnie

I’d prefer Ndiaye up with sharp and MGW behind over starting McBurnie.

He isn’t a natural goal scorer like sharp or Brewster. He isn’t a link up man like Didsy to play alongside Sharp & he isn’t a target man either and doesn’t have the pace to be an outlet like a fully fit Moose, so struggle to see how he adds to the way we play.
Spot on mate . What does he do?

Now we know what he ISN'T will you PLEASE tell us what he IS?!
People talk about a false 9 ... He's a false footballer , a whinging pub thug who doesn't have a single attribute that I can admire.
I've seen plenty of limited footballers over half a century but normally I can say "well , at least he's good at doing x or y".
But the only thing this knob can do is wind up the ref & me

And it‘s not like he could even drive the coach…..🤦🏻

posters on here know ive never rated mcburnie and still dont i agree with an earlier post we have to move him on this summer if we can get 5m for him i would take the loss on him

One goal In about 30 now isn't it? ..

If the pigs had spent 20 million on someone like that thered be a thread laughing our bollox off about it on here.

Except it doesn't need to be the pigs - ask ANY neutral football fan - they all have the same opinion.

he is supported on here by very well meaning Blades supporters which I get totally, but the opinion of others is quit consistent.

Lets hope he can contribute in the run in no matter what the split opinion on here is.

We live in hope :)

You are right mate we all want him to come good but !!!!

Time for Oli to step up to the plate, coming into the business end of things with another striker out, thought he’s played really well in his two recent cameos, looking forward to seeing him pair up with MGW again

UTB ⚔️
There's nobody stuck up for him more than me, but unfortunately I think you're right.

My answer came up on the wrong thread. Basically I'm beginning to think Oli is not very good

He's terrible value for money, we've seen such a poor return for 20 mil. The lad's stealing a living.
If I was as shit at my job as he is at his, I'd have been sacked a long time ago.

We need him though we look like the team that went to Wembley and through injuries had not enough fit strikers left for the final. With Brewster gone for the season and McGoldrick with a serious injury. We have Sharp, McBurnie and 18 year old Jebbison. We are one injury away from a disaster.

He did nothing wrong yesterday, it’s his first start for months, what’s wrong with people?

When players come back from injury they are not 100% we know and they can struggle or seem off the pace but also show us glimmers of their former self.

Then there is McBurnie.

Personally I think if McBurnie left tomorrow the only difference it would make is to the wage bill... BUT, the only alternative we have is to push Bash up front.

But then what about the defence !!!!!

OK he has to play.....

What did he do wrong yesterday? 😂

Yes, whatever the opinions, McB will be seeing a lot of game time in the coming weeks. I agree with most of the criticism there's been but we as fans have to get behind him.

The header in the first half was put straight onto his head by the ball into the box - it was, as it nearly always is with McB, poorly timed. His timing on most things is quite possibly the worst timing of a footballer I've seen at any level in any division. For sure players have been shockingly poor, but timing is what any sports person playing any game needs - McB's is poor all round no matter how he touches a football.

The ball that Billy fed McB in the box in the 2nd half needed a little bit of dexterity to control and probably hit it quickly with the 2nd touch - and by dexterity, I am talking about the sort of touch Bogle did v brum before poking it through the keepers legs. instead, he couldn't/didn't/wouldn't sort his feet out because he simply can't.

I sincerely hope he is given only cameo parts in the next 3 homes games, then at least we can move on as a team - at this point in the season we don't need to limit ourselves or the team with a massive liability.

No way are you blaming him for that ball Billy gave him 😂 it was behind him, what Bogle did was ridiculous and not many Premier League players could do it - relevance?

Given the lack of space at the point sharp passed the ball he put in in the only area he could, it wasnt behind mcb, just mcb was just off with timing his run. No biggie for me. What is biggie is that we have seen nowt from mcb in 76 games...7 goals, 7 goals...thats a worse goal rate than mcgoldrick and look at the stick he gets for his lack of goals. Connor sammon scored 5 in 26 games 🤣🤣 Whatever people say there is no personal agenda against mcb, he just isnt good enough. As a blade if he proves me wrong then I will be fckin ecstatic.

So it was McBurnie’s timing of the run that was off, not the timing of the pass? Thought it might be somehow

He's our striker he's our number nine,
Not scored a goal in a long long time,
20 million and he came from Swansea,
And now he's only worth 50p.
😆
