Berge does have a languid relaxed style I’ll give you that, but he doesn’t make me nervous in possession.I've been advocating starting McBurnie, after all there's no future in continuing to play Billy and Didzy forever. After a couple of encouraging cameos in the last 2 games I was hoping to see him do well.... he was very poor as others have said. His touch was abyssmal, a couple of times he actually set them going on the attack his passing and control were that poor. I was hoping we'd take him off after an hour. I thought Billy did ok, showing all the things like holding it up and bringing in his own team mates that McB seemed incapable of.
Just on Berge, fuck me he gives me a heart attack every time he gets the ball. He was so slow to make up his mind, he nearly got caught a few times.
I actually thought Robinson did quite well, some good tackles and vital interceptions, really difficult as he had their best player (Koroma?) on his side too.
I was definitely in the Wait and See camp, but I thought he was fucking awful today.a couple of times he actually set them going on the attack
I dont think he did...he did absolutely...fuck all!And yet he played better than MGW and Sharp today
On this graphic McB had 5 of our 7 attempts from inside the box.
On another day he may have scored a couple. It was a low XG game for both sides. Defences were definitely on top.
Positive - He got in the right areas today.
Negative - His link up play was poor all match and agree he set them off on a number of breaks with poor touches.
They should have taken it out of Chris' severance! The fact that Mcburnie has played about 80 games for us now, and most people struggle to think of a good performance, must mean that he's not been very good. That's not a small sample size.
In fact, for twenty million quid, it's quite unbelievable.
The vocal and supportive bit is not what gets my goat.Don't slag off your own fans.
Especially just for being vocal and supportive.
Thing is he doesn’t have these “other” days!
He was ok today but his job is to hit the back of the net sadly can’t see him doing it very often
Watch sharps second against WBAI wish it were not so but my heart sinks when the ball comes to him.
He never adds any value to any situation.
And he often detracts from our play.
Either committing unnecessary fouls or being petulant with the ref like a spoilt child.
Stop feckin moaning Mr McB + do something that I can applaud.
One things for sure he cant play with Sharp, as he needs one of the young whipper snappers alongside him.
I think we now only have 3 fit strikers at the club (Sharp, McBurnie and Jebbison) with MGW and Ndayie able to play just behind. So all 5 are likely to be involved when fit for the foreseeable, as Hecky generally wants 3 of these starting.I will 100% support him whilst ever wears a blades badge, but he just doesn’t suit our style of play. Realistically he’s 5th choice when everyone is fit, 6th before moose left.
I’d prefer Ndiaye up with sharp and MGW behind over starting McBurnie.I think we now only have 3 fit strikers at the club (Sharp, McBurnie and Jebbison) with MGW and Ndayie able to play just behind. The alternative is to drop to a flat 3 in midfield.
Let's hope the comments from the management team indicate that he's ready to give it 100% between now and the ned of the season. Him and Berge coming good would be a massive boost for the next 20 games
Strange because I thought he was decent today. Not the best player on the pitch but not the worst. Got in some good positions and showed great skill to get the shot away that was cleared on the goal line. If that had gone in and we'd won 1-0 people would be jizzing themselved over his performance. Him, Berge and Robinson are all picked on merit by the manager, and none of them was terrible today. Berge and McB are similar in that they have a loping stride that can
Here's the stats on WhoScored- he's the worst player in our squad and inthe whole league- https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/163/Show/England-Sheffield-UnitedI was definitely in the Wait and See camp, but I thought he was fucking awful today.
Second half in particular there was a whole passage of: get the ball, patiently work it into a dangerous area, pass to McBurnie, McBurnie attempts to continue this beautifully crafted period of possession but it's a shit-weak pass....interception! Break! Oh fuck! Everyone pile back. Tackle! Thank fuck for that. Right, start again. Patiently work it into a dangerous area, pass to McBurnie, McBurnie attempts to continue this beautifully crafted period of possession but it's a shit-weak pass....interception! Break! Oh fuck! Everyone pile back. Tackle! Thank fuck for that. Repeat.
I'd like to see stats on it but I'd say he started 4 or 5 of their most dangerous attacks.
Like others have said MGW had an off-day and nothing was working for him either, so it's take a breath and give McBurnie another chance and see if he comes up with the goods - we're likely to see a lot of him given the injuries.
I’d prefer Ndiaye up with sharp and MGW behind over starting McBurnie.
He isn’t a natural goal scorer like sharp or Brewster. He isn’t a link up man like Didsy to play alongside Sharp & he isn’t a target man either and doesn’t have the pace to be an outlet like a fully fit Moose, so struggle to see how he adds to the way we play.
