Step up McBurnie

I'm not sure why people are queuing up to slate him on the football front.

First game he's started in ages and looked very rusty. Still, I thought he did ok in his all-round game. Needs to do better with those chances though.

He was better than MGW and I notice no thread slagging him off.

It’s o good point. Badly made !

MGW has been very influential for us on a consistent basis. Not at the races today admittedly.

McBurnie has also been consistent. And for a much longer period 😉.

MGW Has been out after a bad injury he will come good with game time something I’m afraid McBurnie will never achieve

Because MGW has credit he’s consistently our best performer but had a stinker today.
Mcburnies consistent inability to run,tackle or control a football is why he gets slagged off.
I wish him well and one day he’ll find his level but it’s not in the championship

Yes, you're right, MGW has been our best player this season (despite there being a thread which says we don't need him!) but my point was that (and I'm far from being a fan) McBurnie was also been injured, suffered quite badly from COVID and this is his first start for a long time. Sure, he should have done better with those chances, but I do not think he deserves singling out for a slating from his performance today.

And yes, he has been poor for a long period, but looked better these last few games.

I mean, he is our player. Might be nice to try and get behind him as long as he's showing some kind of desire?

Mixed bag. That early foul on the keeper and the later elbow on their defender were both unnecessary and he could've been sent off. Needs to cut that out. He should've done better from the chance in the second half when Billy set him up. The pass was slightly under his feet but I think he could've got more power on it. But it's good to see him getting in scoring positions and hitting the target. I thought he was unlucky with his other big chance second half--turned well and got a decent shot off. Some of his hold up play was good. Something to build on for sure.

Yes, especially first half. In fact he closed down their keeper in the first 30 seconds and almost forced a mistake. He came back to link up play, won headers and closed down their defenders. He faded badly in the second half but I'm not sure why you'd say he didn't show any desire to win the ball out there? He was clearly trying.

Bullshit. Not about being a scapegoat, if you're not showing you are good enough then thats the issue. Grow up. Again, not sure what game you watched to suggest mcb got better, for me he got worse! Connor Sammon got pelters from everybody but for me there is a cig paper between him an mcb so far

As for the people STILL sticking up for him, for christ sake how little do some of you expect from a forward?

His control and technique his absolutely appalling, he can’t take a man on, he’s not fast, doesn’t have a trick, not strong enough to bully defenders, not a good penalty box striker and can’t even hit a hard shot from outside the box.

Call me biased but like many others I do think he commits so many needlessly niggly fouls and bickers so much with the ref to give the illusion of doing something and being an important part of the game.

Awful player, someone called him a number 10 the other day when number 10s are supposed to be the most technical players in your entire squad.

Very much the opposite to N’Diaye in that I HATE watching him play

We watched the game mate, as did you, if you were truthful you would say it was like playing with 10 men but I’m assuming your one of his fans so no matter what will never ever say you got it wrong and there isn’t a player in there after all.
 
I'm a big fan of the McBurnie that used to terrorise us when he played against us, I'm still hoping he comes good but the version we have has been disappointing to say the least. He always looked a scruffy player who'd run at defenders, rag them about a bit and weigh in with a few goals. For us he looks petulant, more bothered about acting the hard man but strangely, falls down too easily and ends up offering very little.

If he wants to be the hard case great, we need one, but don't then start crying when you're diving about looking for free kicks. Man up, stop the fucking acting and get on with playing football.

LOL. You must have known you posting rubbish as you posted these comments. He has been ok the last 3 games but you are blinded by your dislike for him . Enjoy school on Monday
