HMS Hecky is in full flight and I've just had £20 on us to get the autos at 20/1 the form we are in and 12/19 games left at home is great value IMO

First of all I would drop bomb scare wes he has been very lucky that some of his clangers one vs bristol city and one the other day vs Birmingham where he nearly juggled the ball to a Brum player haven't resulted in goals , Davies should be give at least a chance plenty of games for them both to play a few games and see who is the better keeper

Berge retains his place because he can actually pass a ball and run with the ball unlike fleck who plays like he is wearing knee braces or has for the last 12 months

If MGW is fit as Hecky said then he has to come back in he is the best forward we have and has to play no10 you would think

Mcburnie in for Sharp , sharp played well the second half and took his goal well but he is 38 now and cannot play 3 games a week bill needs a break and a prime athlete like Mcburnie should be raring to go

Fucking mental, as ever. Drop a keeper in form with not much evidence of poor performance for a newby not even bedded in with a match or three in the reserves to assess performance and suitability. Just 'because' ((c) Fallowfield)

Berge still in because 'he can actually pass a ball' based on one effective pass last time out (which looked destined for Ndaiye)

Norwood swapped to the left. Can't recall him ever playing left side of midfield before (Silent might help out here)

Finally, in comes 'prime athlete' McBurnie in place of Fallowfield's least favourite, yet Sheffield United's most prolific striker, some years younger than he thinks he is.

And people accuse me of attention-seeking.

If Wesley’s in form then I dread to think the mistakes he will make when out of form 😀

Brum/Wolves/Bristol 3 clangers in 9 games isn’t good enough

Norwood playing centre mid with Berge , if Berge is dropped for hourihane/fleck then we don’t deserve good players

Sharp was excellent v brum in the second half (annonymous 1st) but I think Sharp needs a rest anyway and he won’t suit the giants of WBA

It’s not attention seeking merely provoking discussion

Sharp is never 'anonymous'. Sharp is a percentage striker. Half a chance, and he's in. And that depends on people finding him, which without the MGW/Ndaiye nexus behind him he's struggling with those chances but nevertheless hard working for a 45 year old.

Norwood hasn't got a left foot.

And Wes has far better form than the running pack of goalkeepers, amongst which you once highly rated Olsen, a man I wouldn't trust in a Vanarama game

I do love a bit of delusion on our thread 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'd like to think i watch the united games without any bias before the match i have watched sharp every game and he has been anonymous for large spells Birmingham first half as an example second half he was excellent however

He has always been a finisher however this season he hasn't he has been well below his previous standards of the 2018/19 champ season he has missed countless half chances and plenty of sitters which is why he has 6 goals in 26 from open play which is poor

Olsen wasn't any great shakes but wes has made just as many mistakes as Olsen and Olsen was playing under a much less stable back 4 than Wes now in a back 5

Thats your opinion on olsen based on a a very small sample size you say you wouldnt trust him in the vanarama league but he has been trusted in Serie A / Prem / Champions League and a world cup so plenty of managers have trusted him before

If Norwood hasn't got a a left foot then i wouldn't play him there Berge should play all day ahead of Oli " plays a few god balls and fools everyone into thinking he is Paul Scholes" Norwood

For once I agree with Fallowfield on Sharp and I would rest/bench him for tonight. We have a lot of games coming up and against the land of the giants it might be a good time for him to be looked at as an impact sub.

If we are playing the sort of West Brom who handed us our arses earlier in the season he will struggle, get frustrated, fall over and give away fouls. McBurnie on the other hand, who had a great cameo at Brum, will give us that awkward physical presence at both ends of the pitch.

He is a striker. Most strikers are anonymous for large spells. Did you also admit that he was superb for the first 20 games or so?

Sharp is playing due to the fact that he has had a good season. He is in the starting eleven based on merit, not because he is a club (and EFL) legend.

If McBurnie plays then it's probably for his defensive prowess in the air and not his forward ability, Sharp is a much better forward and has proven so many times over. I think Sharp will play because he's had a rest since Friday, I think McBurnie will then start on Saturday.

I'd rather have Jebbison in than McBurnie though, McBurnie is now at the 'seeing his contract out and hoping for a move' stage of his time with us. Jebbo is one for the future.

How long does mcburnie have left ?

Is it not until the end of next season then I would assume that we have an option for another year so effectiveley 2 years left ?

Too long. I'm not basing it on his contract end date, just his performances and effort levels on and off the pitch. He needs getting rid of but no one will take him, so we're lumbered with him.

Effort levels ? Clearly didnt watch him on Friday then did you derek

A couple of nods and smiles to the crowd in a 20 minute performance after months out for spurious reasons and he's all of a sudden absolved of all sins?!

He was good when he came on but it doesn't forgive the shite and off field antics that we've had previously this season and last.

"spurious reasons"

A broken foot and long covid

"shite and off field antics"

Defending his self when getting harrased in public with his bird and paying for a young Swansea fans funeral

I'm more referring to the shoulder injury from throwing himself on the floor and then constant isolations that no one else seems to have suffered with.

The off field stuff relative to us is the driving ban and the getting drawn into arguments with scrotes. There's also the backing of one of our Championship rivals who used to pay his wages instead of trying to play some decent football for the team currently paying his wages.

You love Oli though so we'll never agree, I'll keep up my love of the true club legend with 9 goals this season, who you seem intent on doing down all the time.

So you're saying he deliberately got injured ?

I would say there have been more players isolated than not so that's nonsense ?

I don't love McBurnie I just find it funny how you can base an opinion on nothing , Mcburnie also plays for SUFC so surely you should support him also I'm merely defending a player who gets abuse on here for not much

I also love sharp he is a blades legend , I'm just saying I don't think he has been great this season and doesn't get much scrutiny because he is a blade and didn't cost a lot and that's my opinion

No, he deliberately acted a twat and threw himself on the floor, that led to an injury. If he doesn't act a twat, he doesn't get injured in that instance.

My opinion is that McBurnie is poor and has been for a while now for us. McGoldrick has scored more goals than him this season and last and I don't think he should be near the team at the moment. Jebbison scored the same number of PL goals as McBurnie last season in a lot less games. The numbers add up to him not being very good.

I'm sure he's got great bantz as he always seems to be smiling when on the bench and he normally keeps the opposition subs entertained with his witty repertoire. For me I prefer my Blades players to be good at playing football for Sheffield United, if he can achieve this then I'll change my mind and apologise to the apologists.

McBurnie managed the game superbly when he came on on Friday. Didn't do much, but what he did, he did very, very well.

I still wouldn't start him over Sharp though.

We also have a game on Saturday lunchtime and i am concerned whether Sharp can cope with that . If MGW is fit, play him and Ndiaye behind Sharp tonight but look to start McBurnie at the weekend to give Sharp a rest.
Basham looked like he was carrying a knock to his back on Friday so it wouldn't surprise me if Goode started tonight.

Im not sure , I think he is a clanger waiting to happen good shot stopper but all keepers should be

I can count 3 big ones in the last 8 or 9 games Bristol/wolves & Birmingham last time out

If we aren't gonna play davies then why did we bother signing him

I think the fact he's a good shot stopper outweighs the fact he's missing a cross or two at game at the moment IMO.

I take your point he might at some point make a mistake that costs us a goal/game but when I watch Championship games I can't think of any keeper in the division who doesn't make one or two misjudgments a game like Wes, some lead to goals and some don't.

Davies provides competition for if/when he has a genuine horror show or two but until he does a 'Verrips at The Hawthorns' I'd give him the nod for now.
