Moving up the league nicely now, play off push?
That thought is being had by some of our total optimists, but realistically we are 13 points off the lowest play-off place and although we are winning regularly now, the team is a work in progress. Next season will see the benefits of this season's rebuild. Our most urgent need is to find two permanent players to replicate the quality of Harrison and Kacper. No easy task I'm afraid as they are integral to the team mix currently.

Never say never, a few months back a lot of our fans were worried about a relegation scrap, a run of wins under Heckingbottom and we are not far off a play off spot if we win our games in hand.

Sounds promising for these two. Both of them will be 21 by the time we start next season, so should be looking to be in the the first team squad.

Big jump and ask for the two lads that Non-league to Premiership in 6 months.

For any S6 scrubbers lurking its tongue in cheek.
They will certainly need more schooling before anything like that. I don't believe for a minute that Sheffield Utd don't have the pair of them regularly watched by your scouts or coaching team. And it is they that will decide on the progress made and next tests for the lads.

looks like brunt is starting to become the scape goat for a few notts county fans despite the fact they were winning when he was on the pitch then conceded 2 and lost when he was off it. Just read that they’re playing him deeper than his preferred number 10. Hopefully things pick up for him and he actually gets to play in his preferred position

Not seen a reply to this, but Haz signed for United aged 8. My son signed at the same time and Harrison is the only one of that group still at United. A few others are still in the game but Harrision stayed at Unted throughout. Originally from Barnsley but I think we can forgve him that.
Harrisons Grandad Arthur was a coalminer. I worked with him. Harrison’s inherited his work ethic. Top bloke.

Difficult to resist saying he should have stayed with us.

Getting just a bit excited for tonight's game with Bromley. They've won 4 on the spin and sit in 4th position, whereas we are now unbeaten in 6 with 5 wins and a draw. So Harrison is back, bookings paid for, and Kacper is now playing his best football so far and they can look forward to playing in front of a decent crowd (trying not to Wednesdayish but we've shifted nearly 7.5k home tickets for tonight). Ok, that's it for pre-match. See what happens tonight as to whether I return tomorrow. Bye Blades.

We have to take it while it's on offer Yogi, you never know when the next embargo will heave into view. So, yes, for now we're on the up. Funnily enough I thought of you guys when we were debating Nile Ranger stealing a living at Boreham Wood at the moment, and my mind went back to our away win at your place when he showed just how good he could have been if he wasn't such a wicked arsehole. No bitterness, obviously.

Good luck. We're all #sufc aren't we? 😉

I remember that night as well I was convinced we were headed out the bottom the league one that night and truly worried about the future of the club little did I know how close we were to turning the corner footballs a funny old game.

Ranger always had all the tools but didn’t have it between the ears to leave his rough upbringing behind.

So true. He still thinks he's a gansta running with naughty boys in London.

We’ve recently had an academy lad go back to that lifestyle and be implicated in a few crimes in London. For someone of Rangers age though who’s had the sheer amount of chances in the game you’d have thought the message would’ve got through eventually

??
If you don't want to put his name on here could you message me pal 👍 👍
Think it’s fairly well known it’s been mentioned on several threads and there’s some reports about him in London last year it’s Tashae Andall-Gibbons arrived the same year as Ndiaye. Apparently he’s back living the street lifestyle as part of the 12 anti gang going by Y.F. I believe he was running with them before coming up north to play for our academy and has slipped back into that leading to his arrest last year.

He's only about 2 foot tall. It's a shame he never grew up:p

The fact he’s kept getting chances has probably contributed to the message not getting through.

Took them to the cleaners tonight, 2-0 and a quite magnificent performance from the Blue boys which made Bromley look quite ordinary, a difficult trick as they were unbeaten before tonight. Harrison started on the bench, and probably that was the right decision as the team had won well without him, he came on for the last 30 minutes and injected some steel and fresh legs just when we needed him. Lopata was pure class, he bossed the defence, and, as another Zoner said, 'Lopata - was a class act up against all 6 foot 5 of Sowunmi effectively nullifying the threat from those long throws'. That lad has a career far higher than us but for now we will just enjoy the guy. Gave his shirt away to a deserving West Stand youngster and the kid's face was magic. I hope Kacper knows he will have to buy another one now, we aren't made of money you know. Play-offfs? highly improbable, but you never know on this form. Nite nite Blades, I'm totally fucked now.😴

Andy Woodman, the Bromley manager, said 'fair play' to Southend in his after match interview. He reckoned Southend raised their game as it was like a cup final for Southend playing against them! This after 120 of their fans made the short journey from London. That went down so well with the 8k of home supporters. This league is something else, it really is, but I have to say that quite a few sides in this division would easily hold their own in FL2. Maybe it's time for the league to become FL3.

Kudos again to Southend, Rootshallbloke. Not only helping us develop our youngsters, also preparing them for life in a football environment where the local competition is Sheffield Wednesday.

Rootshall. Doing Roygbiv ‘s work since 2021 😉

Roots, the league will soon look more like FL2 than FL2 does. U lot, Chesterfield, Stockport, Mansfield, Wrexham, Halifax, Grimsby, Yeovil are more like FL2 than the likes of Sutton,Harrogate and Forest Green

Are you dreaming of making the play-offs now that relegation fears have mostly gone and your financial position seems to be better? Only 11 points surely that's doable over the second half of the season with the upsurge you have had?

I'm definitely not dreaming on that front. One game at a time and see how it all goes. Just too many disappointments and catastrophes over the last 3/4 seasons, so we hold our breath and see how the rest of the season unfolds. You know, you really are a git (in a nice way), there's me got my brain around keeping a lid on stuff and then Wembley and play-off finals pops into my head.....................

Whatever happens you have had positive a turnaround, much like ourselves, that makes it a decent season with something to build on. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

And to you guys, SUFCs are us, with the exception of Scunthorpe maybe

Think actually the play-offs in the Conference Nation League are much more a lottery than the EFL. A total of 5 one-off games - none of this two legged rubbish!! For those that don't know it goes:

Elimination Round - Match A - 5th place vs 6th place
Elimination Round - Match B - 4th place vs 7th Place
Semi Final - 2nd place vs winner of Match A
Semi Final- 3rd place vs winner of Match B
Promotion Final
