Yeah I remember it at the time it was just odd that the interest was at the exact same time as Kaide was moving to Liverpool and then dropped off after he moved. I do rate Gordon but the reported interest came out of nowhere and went away very quickly.

I could not let this update to the SUFC Unofficial Roster go without a salute to Regan. I don't believe in playing players if they're not good enough. But I do believe in this club being a club with identity. And Regan is/was/and could have been part of that Identity. And I do believe in pathways & not blocking them. Regan never really benefitted from a pathway. He'll remain a cult hero to the Carrier Bag Firm.

One door closes & another opens. Slater (E) is promoted to just Slater on this update. While one of the Davies is relegated to Davies (B). In the battle of the brackets, Williams (L) has shifted a bit. Update Baby....

We included him as a midfielder in a previous version, but he reached out to us by one of the usual channels & we've reclassified him as a striker following the receipt of a Brown Envelope.

Must be getting more backhanders than Wimbledon.
(Not sure if I mean the tennis tournament or Fashanu’s lot who tried (unsuccessfully) to give us two penalties in about ten minutes)

Part of the rationale for the Unofficial Roster was to help show when we are Blocked. When the number of players ahead of an Academy prospect is large & full of bit part players. To show when the Pathway to the first team squad is congested. The current format doesn't really do that justice. Because we have often had to dig deep for U23 line ups. We have named 35 different players in U23 match day squads this season. I can't make my mind up whether that's good or bad. Finger in the air, that's bad. Too much churn & promoting players because there's no one else. But, either way, thems the facts.

More problematic is Angelo Cappello. He basically alternates in the U23s between playing left wing back & striker. He's in the Unofficial Roster as a Midfielder (which is where he spent his career before this season)

Yeah I’ve noticed that with him filling in at the back after Boyes loan and then being pushed forward late in games when Buyabu comes on. We do seem a bit make for and mend this year with a lot of lads out on loan that’s the way it goes
