Up in the hills!
Just had a text from a mate who says we've signed an Italian goalie on loan. Anybody know if there's any truth in this rumour, or is he just winding me up?
Said mate is truffle snuffler, so he could just be taking the piss after Simmos performance on Sunday!

Mannone? Manuel off faulty towers will be better than the current one.

The following was copied from his Wiki page:

"Mannone's time at Barnsley was not a happy one – on his debut away to Preston North End on 22 September, he came on as a substitute after Colgan was sent off was unlucky to give Preston the winning goal, punching the ball onto Patrick Agyemang's head.[5] In his next match, against Luton Town, starting in place of the suspended Colgan, he dropped a cross late on and Ahmet Brković scored the winner."

Out of the frying pan and into the fire!!

Also:

"With Manuel Almunia struggling for fitness, Mannone made his second Premier League appearance against Wigan Athletic on 19 September 2009. Mannone kept a clean sheet in a 4–0 victory for Arsenal. Mannone also kept a clean sheet in the game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on 26 September 2009, in which he pulled off many good saves and almost single-handedly kept Arsenal in the game, receiving the man of the match award, where Arsenal won 1–0. Mannone said the game was the highlight of his career. He again kept a clean sheet in the 2–0 victory over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League on 29 September. He has never lost a match with Arsenal, which has helped build his confidence in front of goal."

Fair comment Tarquin, I didn't read that far.
If it's true, can only be good for the team, Simmo needs a kick up the arse and maybe someone else coming in will give him that. Personally I'd give him his P45!
