ive noticed over the last season or so more and more blades have started referring to the pigs as MASSIVE or THE MASSIVE ,this seems to have spread to all the local teams and now the pigs being the bright sparks they are have caught on to this and started calling themselves MASSIVE in some kind of attempt at irony at schoolboy "know you are you said you are " level

now after a couple of weeks of doing this they seem to have totally got carried away with it and forgotten that it was blades fans who gave them this moniker in the first place ,accusing the people who call them THE MASSIVE unable to understand their superior sense of humour

anyway my point is this ,i think this clears up one of the greatest mysterys in sheffield football history

theorigins of the nickname the pigs ,its easy to see how this situation of both sets of calling each other by this piggy name and yet not knowing the origins of it
allow me to explain

ive heard dozens of storys but no one can confirm how it happened ,well it seems clear to me that united fans had probably been calling the pigs this nickname for maybe a decade or so and then the thick pigs have decided to turn the tables by confusingly calling us the pigs as well

only problem is after a few weeks they all forgot. leaving the blades to argue in the pubs and clubs against trotter hoven fuckwits who dont have the self awareness to see that when everyone tells you your arrogant and above your station then just maybe you are

i hope this post clears everything up

MASSIVE deluded fookwits ............... always have been ....always will be !

The pigs well i was there at the start and there deffo the original pigs. They are a disgrace to Sheffield original cheats (Bronco) original scrounging barstewards (1966).

Two hats the lot of em !

Remember calling wendys captain Mel sterland the original flying pig, ugly bastard.how long ago is that, more than a decade ago for sure.

I wasn't saying we have been calling them pigs for a decade ,I know it's longer than that
I meant a decade before they cottoned on and started calling it us in retaliation

Not how I remember it. I remember both sets of supporters spontaneously starting to call each other pigs around 1980ish. Always seemd a bit juvenile to me. But then supporting a football team is probably a bit juvenile...

The pig thing goes back further .................... i'll let this run ..................then spill the beans !

It was a joke ,not a very good one either

Great thread this judgey. Mind you, it is a step up from your usually potty mouthed illiteracy.
