If this game goes ahead tomorrow I won't be surprised if Boro refuse to turn up @ BDTBL and the game ends up been called off if they have got 19 positive Covid cases according to the Yorkshire Post

Hecky calling other clubs out on their bullshit. 👏

That means you QPR and Hull City.

Precisely why the EFL need to step in and change the rules. The club who do not call off the fixture due to covid should be the one to decide when the fixture is replayed. A lot of shenanigans going on where clubs are looking to get January out of the way and the transfer window before they reschedule fixtures. Credit to Preston for agreeing to the 18 January so quickly.

That's a forfeit and 3 points to us. Sound

Aye, fair play to Preston for getting it rearranged asap.

The test results should have to be PCR’s and copies of the results should have to be lodged with the EFL 12 hours before kickoff.

I don't like this talk from our lot about being "desperate" for the game to go ahead, I remember all our lot tubthumping during the first lockdown about how they couldn't wait to get out there, but our form collapsed shortly thereafter.

10 backroom staff though. Wilders had to put the kit out.
I k ow there are backroom staff. I know there's a myriad of roles within that backroom staff. But is the kit man going to be an issue? Physio and doctors definitely an issue. Nutritionist? Surely someone else can hand the frubes and lucozades out. Fitness coaches? Can't see them being all that much of a miss on a day where light training and warm ups will be done pre-game.

Preston seemed to be the most genuine case of postponement.

Hull's looked genuine as they recalled players to try to play the match but I can see them fobbing us off to try and get the fixture moved to February. So they can get the transfer window out of the way.

QPR blatantly had key players missing and just wanted to get the game off. They are losing players to AFCON next month so they will be pushing the rescheduled date back. The EFL should have just awarded us the points for this one.

Hope it kicks off. Warnock vs Megson levels. McBurnie to plant one on Wilder. Old boys take over G&H.

I'm sure theres over 100 staff they could call upon from their academy, coaches, physios ,medical staff etc ,and even a few decent players

It's not 19 players though is it. It's 9.

They need to stop this hyperbolic rubbish.
Exactly. Since when do you need staff to play a 90 minute game of football? It's inconvenient. It's not ideal. But it isn't a showstopper.

Quite right it goes ahead if this is the nonsense they are trying to pull. They have 27 players listed on Transfermarkt and 32 on Wikipedia. Take 9 away and you've got a full matchday squad before you even touch the U23s.

Quick reminder...we recently beat Fulham minus Verrips, Olsen, O'Connell, Davies, Guedioura, McBurnie, McGoldrick, Brewster and Mousset. Pretty sure Norrington-Davies wasn't fit and missed out and Baldock was there after a lay off.

Disappointing as it may be without key players, it happens. Not being able to put a team together is not the same as not being able to put your strongest team out. I'd love to know how many QPR were missing in full because they have listed 25 players and 14 U23s (not U18 kids) on Wikipedia. By rights they should have had 25 out before turning down the game. I seem to remember they said 10, in which case, where is the investigation resulting in giving Blades 3 points?

PH's press conference. We have 8 out 2 with covid and its not Mcg and Mcb who are available. Davies and Mgw still out as are Olsen and Brewster. That leaves 2 more injured and 2 with covid. Reference made to Slater and Guedioura being back training so these presumably are the 2 other injured players. Mystery question is who are the other 2 out with covid? So its not only Boro who have players missing.

I think as much as I want it on....

If the boot was on the other foot and we had just Heckingbottom, Bogle, Egan, Hourihane and say Sharp out of our usual staff, starting 11 and subs and rest had to be made up of academy id be pretty peed off.
Hopefully if will be on and Boro have a few more players to choose from too, otherwise it's not really an even playing field to be honest.

I was wondering who was the best footballer pre Jesus/Bannon - I heard that Moses had a trick or to up his sleeve!

Moses was a combative midfielder.

The Germans were strong even then with Mattathias and Haman.

Many links to the Blades, all named Jonah.......

Definitely. We haven't had an outbreak ourselves yet, if we were hit mid January we could end up with 6 or 7 rearranged games to fit into 3 months.
I am interested if we have simply been lucky, out of we have better protocols.

I suspect it's the former, but I'd love it to be the latter. Would make taking the moral high ground a lot easier for me. 😁

The EFL has to step in and make the teams.play at the earliest date possible. I even thought that was the rule. Not some bullshit about pushing it out to March or other nonsense because you create a problem further down the line then. What if you genuinely had a reason to postpone games in March. What happens then? You end up, like Rotherham, at the backend of the season, playing 4 games in a week for some poor team, us likely, who had no control over others cancelling. How does that retain the integrity of the competition.

Leeds the same. Every postponed games is one less they play minus Bamford or Phillips. The PL aren't the stupid fucks who decides to build a squad based on only about 18 senior pros are they? Though I think they'll get pasted vs Liverpool away. Anyhow, that's not bad luck through injuries etc. That's reaping what you sow.

Forgot about Mousset who I presume is still injured so we've probably got 9 out of you include Regan and were not asking for the game to be called off. That assumes Moose isn't 1 of the 2 covid cases.

We all want to see strongest squads out there, but to be honest, points win prizes. If they were forced to field their under 23s I wouldn't give a shit. You can only beat what's in front of you.
