Awesome business ,Adrian littlejohn ,Lee Morris ,Jordan Slew................ reincarnation.

funny how last year we all thought he was going to tear the league 1 defences apart.

Then we woke up.

Either I'm getting old, completely lack any interest in the Blades whatsoever or I've got some kind of degenerative brain illness but I cannot personally remember being so unconcerned by the sale of one of our 'rising stars'. Good luck to the lad, I hope me wrong but I think we've sold them a wet firework there, defos.

UTB

He probably would have. A move too early in his career for me, though he'll probably be loaned out to a champ side in January

Let's not sink to sour grapes.

The poll is missing a middle ground option IMO. He won't tear the PL apart now or any time in the future, I do think he will have a career bobbing around the PL and Championship though. In fact, Blackburn is probably a good place for him. SSN says how well Blackburn have done in the window now - Dann is good but their defence is already strong; Yakubu and Slew will not get them the goals they need this season and I still see them relegated in similar circumstances to Birmingham were last season. Good defence, poor strikers = close to relegation.

n o sour grapes genuinely, like i said in my follow up good luck to him, i just think we've got a good deal for sure

Always sad to see the youngsters move before they reach their potential with us. Good luck jordan lad

I've seen nothing from him this season to suggest he'll do anything of note.

Got far too much hype far too quickly. Who knows he may become a good player but I can't say I'm too upset to lose him.

Do we think that, having rejected Fulham's approach earlier in the summer and having made such an effort to get him to sign a new contract, then it must have been a decent offer from Blackburn for us to accept it?

I'm only annoyed that we've let a youngster go when we are supposedly desperate to decrease the wage budget, and Slew would not be one of the high-earners.

Personally I've not been impressed with Slew but it'd be nice to have some kind of back up. Can we really let two of our four strikers (omitting Evans of course) leave on one day without replacing them?

Imagine being a Blackburn fan ,first signing overweight idle shitliner Yakubu ,then a promising new youngster from Sheff Utd. Nip on to our website for a few views..............................Oh Shit.

Taken from Wikipedia, thought I'd copy and paste it before it gets removed:

A product of the Sheffield United academy, Slew made his professional début at the start of October 2010, coming on as an 86th minute substitute in a 1–0 home defeat to Watford.[2] Slew then signed his first senior professional contract with Sheffield United at the start of November which would run until 2012.[3] After a further substitute appearance he made his first start for the Blades on in mid April against Preston North End at Deepdale, and duly scored his first goal for the club.[4] After much speculation during the following close season Slew agreed an improved two year deal to keep him at Bramall Lane.[5]
Slew moved to Blackburn Rovers on August 31, 2011, on transfer deadline day. Only six weeks earlier, on July 15, when signing a new year contract with the Blades, Slew had said: "This is my hometown and where I want to continue my development. The aim now is to play as many games and score as many goals as possible." He fucking lied to us all.
Dubbed the new Jason Roberts.

Slew leaving isnt the issue here, its the fact weve been left with a striker who has barely played for the last 2yrs, someone else on a rape charge (who is apparently injured and being alienated by most of the first team due to attitude and wages) and cresswell who cant score all the goals on his own.

slew has never impressed me, when walker and naughton came on the scene you know they were gonna be top drawer, slew is lightweight and lacks pace - good business for 1m.

confirmed on rangers site we are getting fleck and hutton - lets hope we can get a striker too (rangers have also released beattie on a bosman) now that would be nice.

make no sense why would Jordan Slew would go to blackburn he's not going to play for a couple of years & will probally be loaned out to championship /league 1 club anyway, so if it confirmed it'll be like tonge & kilgallon again & where are they now

but this might all be regardless as he not mention on this list http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14365319.stm . and also he is on the blackburn "in" list on sky sports news. and sky sports news quoted steve kean and he said "im happy with my business today with bringing in scott dann & yakubu"

I just want to know why neither club have confirmed the signing/departure.

It's also odd that it doesn't appear on the lists of transfers concluded yesterday, even though it was announced.

No doubt it did go through, though. Heaven forbid we should pass up a chance to sell a good prospect on deadline day and not replace him...

Never quite made my mind up about Slew. Didn't rate him when I first saw him but then thought he was excellent v Man U in the FAYC. Didn't always look very good technically but then when you watched him in the shooting routines pre-match he was the one who always seemed to find the corner of the net.

Think he's a goalscorer and could've had a decent haul this season if his heart had been in it but it seems fairly clear that his head had been turned by Rankine and by Fulham's interest in the summer and he'd lost some of the hunger.

At this stage in his career, I'd be amazed if he did anything at Premier League level so I'd expect him to go out on loan somewhere in the Championship or L1 in January. Think he could have a decent career but he should look at changing his agent and concentrating on his football more over the next few years at least.

All in all, happy to take £1m for him but very concerned about what we're left with up front, especially with Boggy going as well. Think we're down to 2 credible options up front now and they're very similar players as well.

Roll on Vincent Pericard and Leon Clarke signing on loan next week :)

£1M for slew is briliant business especially if it means we can keep Quinn but it does seem strange selling 2 strikers if we've not got another lined up. For some reason I cant get a cheeky loan deal for BT out of my head but I think its just whishfull thinking

Did he not sign for us?? One word - mercenary. Though I suppose he could have been forced out...though I doubt it. £1 million transfer I think is a good deal.

Shame we had to sell and I wish we could have seen him develop. Don't rate him myself though.

We desperately need two new forwards. Whilst the signing of Fleck is decent he is still only a kid.

Some pace up top is vital I reckon.
