Today has been one of the most confusing days i and prob many others have had since we started our love affair with the Blades.

We have seen some shockers and i mean shockers in the past - real head scratching days but today is right up there with them

Honest question - just what are any positives whatsoever from todays outcomes - i cant find any at all

Please help

Lester is a very competent and highly respected individual and it sounds like him and hecky have been given total control of footballing operations so there won’t be business men with no football experience making football decisions anymore.

Best I’ve got…..Maybe Hecky will be a lucky manager…and maybe he will get the players playing a way they know that will ensure we stay up at least

I’ll be honest, it’s naive to think those guys have got anything other than superficial control - the gentlemen who have now melted into the background will have absolute control from afar.

We’ll see it’s the only hope I’ve got left Rods I’m clinging to it until it’s ripped from me 😂

Spot on. If results don't improve or some players aren't being played i think they will be sticking their oar in. It may be a cultural thing whereby they don't like people contradicting their views.
Such as Wilder and Slav. Hecky has their trust until such time as he disagrees with them.

Yeah definitely the chequebook!

It’s Thursday.
it gets worse

Results on a Saturday afternoon have no baring on us as a team or club. Lose 10 nil? No bother shagger we don’t count results so laugh all you want, the club is flyyyyying and things are looking up!

Modern football is shit, and our club have joined the ranks of other clubs to prove it.

Positives.
Hecky already knows the players (as we will no doubt be keeping this squad).
Knows the youngster's and brings them through well.
Speaks clear English.
Gets on well with all the players.
Only won one game less than Wilder in our relegation season, in a lot fewer games.
He's bringing two United legends along with him.

I think having Heck, McCall and Lester will be a positive
The club is actually talking about the long-term future and living within our means. I was a little worried that we'd end up with a huge debt and in some kind if Sunderland chaos. At least there now seems to be a plan to get shut of the big wages, get by and then start again.

Slim picking these may be.

Give em a chance,we were never going straight back up with the gash side we've got,and to be honest,I haven't missed the Premier league at all.
I feel a bit for Slav,he hasn't been financially backed,and they've treated him pretty poorly I think.
On a plus,Hecky, Lester and mccall know the lads.
He's already touched on the fact that the players need motivation, and that's spot on.
The u23 squad he has gotten together look fantastic and have a tremendous record.
Towards the back of last season we looked decent under his tenure.
Mid table stability is all that's needed this season,we financially can't cope with promotion again without a change in ownership.

If he makes the lads play with passion again, that'll do for me.
We arnt a big concern in football, we have to accept that the good couple of years have well and truly gone, they were fantastic while it lasted, but good times are usually short lived in football, and we have learned you have to enjoy it whilst you can.
I'm wishing Hecky the best of luck and backing the lads.
The haters will hate, but the clubs for life, not just a few years, back him for christ sake and cheer the lads on.
Utb.

I don't have much faith in the Prince's real understanding of how to run a club like ours successfully. I cant see that there have been many (any?) good decisions since he and his crew took over. Personally Id rather McCabe have won the court case, he was far from perfect but the better of the two options in my view.
There is clearly a money problem at the club. The Prince hasn't much and there is a huge amount tied up in very expensive underperforming players no one else seems to value.
So the one good thing that may come out of this? Well its a recognition that we are in for a time of consolidation and its better that nettle is grasped by supporters asap.
Many supporters will once again disappear, annoyed and disgusted and let down, like when this has happened before (1966 1975, 2010 come to mind, oh and that year Deane and Fjiortoft were sold) And will be back when things turn round which you have to hope for.

Its sad and it pisses me off that it comes to this. I think of the Norwich match pre-covid when things looked so brilliantly rosy.
But I've seen quite a bit of the U23s recently and what I have seen I've liked. We could have done much worse than Hecky. Let him get to work and see what happens.

Christ - thank you

Sounds like only players that we will see what will be new is the youth so basically youth et promoted then the scouts bring in more for the under 23s and so on

The club is indeed for life - its the apparent abdication of leadership i find soul destroying - really behind Hecky and whoever is at the helm

Wasn't it stated in court that McCabe was talking with some Americans regarding them taking over, and I may well be wrong, but Wasn't it the same group that put Burnley into debt by using their own money to buy the club?

OP, what part of It rests on 3 pillars, growing value & capabilities, developing players & staff & leveraging the synergies don’t you understand and give you cause for concern?
Understand all that - as i do open systems thinking and any business model you wish to quote - I'm just on my arse with this
