Mrs Trig’s younger son works from home, but his head office is in Reading and by chance he’s down there today and tomorrow. One of his colleagues is a Reading fan and they’re going this evening, home section I imagine. My question is, what words of encouragement can I offer to the lad, who’s never seen us live?

So far, all I’ve come up with is “I’m really sorry” 🙂

How about “see if you can work out which side finished ninth in the PL 2 years ago”.

I bet he can’t.

Tell him to take a good book.

Seeing the mighty Blades will be a life changing experience. Maybe not in a good way but life changing nethertheless.

I trust you weren’t looking for sensible answers!

He will get a lot of sighing practice at least.

One of the shuttlebuses after the match goes directly to a cracking boozer. Search it out.
