I get the players have give us nothing to shout about for a long time and it’s depressing at the moment. But that atmosphere yesterday looked absolutely horrible to play in for the home players. And as a result the game matched the atmosphere, lifeless.

I get they don’t deserve it.But let’s do our bit and make the atmosphere electric for the next few home games and see if it helps them.Because at the moment with a sterile crowd and booing. It’s only going to go one way.

It's rare to find English clubs cheering and singing regardless of what's happening on the pitch. You either need some sort of manufactured ultras start-up or a cunt with a drum, neither of which I particularly wish to see at Bramall Lane anytime soon.

The crowd were behind the lads for the last 20 minutes when we had the wind in our sails and actually looked like doing something in the game. We waint sing fer nowt. Gi us summet to sing abaat.

Agree and disagree.Yeh a lot of home atmospheres aren’t exactly rocking. But our atmosphere isn’t even bad ,it’s absolutely shocking.Must be one of if not the worst in the country at the moment.

The age old question of who should raise the atmosphere the fans or the players on the pitch, a bit of both in my opinion.

For me atmosphere created in a football ground has always been a reciprocal thing between the players and the fans. But be warned, the most passionate and uplifting crowds in the good times, usually turn out to be the most volatile and critical ones when thing ain’t going well...Look at the Geordies for example.

It’s going to be a very easy place for away teams to come then.If it isn’t already that is.

Take a look to the people to your left and tight and around you and there’s your answer. Most are as motivated to scream and shout as the players are to fight for a win.

Here's a thing, why doesn't the current manager get um fired up to put in a decent shift.

For my 2 peneth, i think its the style of play that affects the atmosphere, the warnock / bassett style of football gets you stood up wanting to push the team on, the slow pedestrian stuff has you sat down trying to study whats happening, the team need to play at a much higher tempo and the fans will respond. Whenever someone bursts with pace the noise level instantly goes up a notch we need to keep a good tempo up and the fans will certainly raise the roof

I’m fine with it being quiet if the players aren’t doing anything to get us excited- that’s the nature of a football crowd. It’s the grown men booing a team they support I find laughably embarrassing. Why bother paying all that money for a ticket and traipsing down the Lane or to an away game just to boo your own players? Get a different hobby you weirdos

The style of play is so dull most of the younger fans around where I was were scrolling through the phone for the first hour, no one is singing or shouting cos the team are giving us nothing to sing or shout about,

It is not just a home fans thing either, watched the stream of Blackburn away the other week and never heard our away support so quiet.

I think we have inherited alot of ‘premier league’ supporters over last couple of years which is natural but when things start getting a bit rough on pitch these top flight supporters wont be around to back the lads im afraid

Apart from about last 20 minutes, the atmosphere on the Kop was moribund. All you could hear was a general hubbub of conversations like loads of people waiting for a works meeting to start.

The obvious answer is a singing section. Maybe on the BLUT?

Why oh why haven’t some of our more incel ultra fans thought of this before now?

Siddarn, shurrup,

Anyone trying to create an atmosphere is likely to have a problem with some brain dead moron who thinks it's wrong to shout and sing because his kids can't see, but ok to try to smash somebody's face in

Clearly you haven’t been to Reading this season !!

I think they're (players) essentially getting the same effort they put in (players)
Absolutely fuck all about them, serial losers. It's like giving a medal to the kid who finished last.

Soulless stadium with little vocal support.
No doubt the 10,000 we take on Tuesday will sing us to victory !
I went in the 07 prem season.Yeh crap location and very Lego like.Still made more noise than bramall lane yesterday though.

The momentum & atmosphere comes from the pitch. A flat performance = flat atmosphere.

We just need one of their players to be a prick in the first 5 mins and it gets people’s backs up. Apart from that our atmosphere is like many teams nowadays. A bit stale.

Thank god
Can’t wait for the glory premier fanboys to piss off back to arse, chelski, manure, citeh etc

Are you surprised ?
We have just pissed away our future , which looked golden only 2 years ago.
I can't believe gates are staying this high.
We all know what's coming + it's direction ain't up

Because they can't understand him + even if they could he is exactly the wrong personality for what they need.
They're mainly British and they need a giant rocket up their arse delivered by a British manager.
But even the latter might not succeed in a situation which is far too comfortable - £42kpw for the laziest player on the park ?
Thank God he's not ours + we can send him back.
I wish we could get rid of all the duffers on big money long contracts but unfortunately we are stuck with them for a few seasons yet
