"It’s about time that they have a long, hard look in the mirror."

This comment is spot on, they are taking thousands of pounds a week home and playing absolutely dog shit some aren't even trying and can't be arsed to keep fit

The article should be a wake up call to a lot of the wankers we have pretending to play for us at the moment. It won't be though, they couldn't give a toss as long as they get paid

Whilst some might take it as a personal vendetta - he's not wrong, we are the biggest disappointment in the division currently, pound for pound.

If not us, then who?
I think Derby and Reading may be contenders !

No argument with his comments, the truth hurts sometimes but with our underperforming, comfortable in picking up their wages players,I doubt it.

He is right, of course he is.

But, when we were playing extremely good football and winning games it was all about luck, offside decisions, long ball, physical approach, the opposition having an off-day etc etc.

Never had any good comments from him, don't know why he's anywhere near any of our our matches.

I am not his biggest fan but he is spot on with everything he says there, the players have it in themselves to be playing to a much higher standard, & the fact they are not is largely down to themselves.
Interesting.

If one or two players are underperforming I'd say that was down to them. When 15 or 16 are underperforming I'd say it is down to the manager

He's at it again. During the Swansea game he said on Sky 'its a three day camel ride from Sheffield to here for the fans.'
What's the cunt's problem??
His employers keep making him watch us.

It seems the truth hurts to some of our fans.

We've won 5 league games and 4 of those are in the bottom 4 - and the other one, Stoke, were a posts width away from making it 2 nil before our 10 minutes cameo turned the game around.

It's not just about the players though - we're trying to play perfect football with imperfect players and a manager who wants to carry on game after game after game and not try and solve the problem. I suppose that's Ok if he is allowed to bring in more players to solve the crisis. Time will tell, but it's probably same against v Coventry - we'll dominate possession, we'll not put the game to bed with chances and Coventry will then be more effective with their 35% possession just like it's been for the majority of the season.

Exactly. If we had a fire sale in January, nearly all our first team squad would be bought by teams above us in the league because to a man they are better than the team performances. The manager is getting away with murder.

While I don't necessarily disagree, that means they have under performed for 3 managers now, so what conclusion would you draw from that?

I'm not so sure we have quality players who are underperforming. We have players we've paid quality player money for, like McBurnie and Brewster, both of whom are said to be "proven" at this level, but what is that proof? McBurnie had one stunning season in 2018-2019 and Brewster is living off half a season at Swansea.

We clearly are - some of our fans take it as a personal insult in the same way that some blame Martin Samuel for everything just because he took West Hams stance in the Tevez affair.

We are quite easily the most under performing team in the Championship. We should have more points and we haven't because we are not performing as we should - blame for me is down to players and management expecting them to do what some of them quite clearly can't do.

Very very disappointing and it needs to change because once a team gets on this type of slippery slope it leads very quickly to a Derby County / Sheffield Wednesday situation.

I appreciate that Slav wants to play a certain way, but it's clear he doesn't currently have the personnel to do that. So, he needs to be a good manager and play to the tools at his disposal. To do otherwise would be negligence and would risk continued dismal outings and that would only sap confidence further.

I'm not sure they did underperform for Hecky. 9 points from 11 matches sounds about right for that team based on the opposition. I'm not defending the players who are underperforming. But other managers would be doing better with this squad

Mcburnie had 32 goals in 57 championship games before coming to us. Many of this squad have demonstrated they can perform at the top end of this league, both with United and other clubs. Egan and Norwood for example at Fulham, Brighton and Brentford.

Part of our current problem is the manager seems to be asking some of these players to play in a style that highlights their weaknesses rather than their strengths

Well said Don.

Some of these players are mugging us off. I would rather see the kids start over half of them.

Agree about not having the players, but he is being negligent in that he keeps saying that they will continue to work on the same things. he says he is disappointed in that we don't seem able to solve the problems we have, yet he still maintains the same process.

I don't think he will change process as you suggest, so the word negligent becomes meaningful.

We've had a couple of weeks to work on things (again), so we'll see if it's any different.

Personally I reckon Berge would have been tried in the holding role if he had been fit and now that he is back in training it might get tried.

Something has to change.

Well, to be fair you are clearly an ignorant idiot to take West Ham's stance in that issue.

Are you sure you read it right? - I never said I took West Hams stance - Samuel did. Samuel talks "some" good sense, yet to some of our fans he's always a tosser just because of his stance on West Ham.

I honestly don’t see Goodman this way.

Not at all in fact. Usually very complimentary.

Goodman also made a good comment in the week when he said that some of our players need to take a long hard look in the mirror and give themselves a shake.

Players like Egan, Stevens, Bogle, Fleck, Norwood, Olsen, McBurnie, Burke and Hourihane are performing at a fraction of their ability and its difficult to conclude other than its an attitude issue.

We need a big clear out but regrettably that's not going to happen in one transfer window

While I don't disagree with what Goodman said in his article, I thought the Sky commentary today was taken directly from Coventry's iFollow. Talk about one-sided and biased. I'd had enough 5 minutes into the second half, so I put SUTV on and they were running the Bein 2 feed with english commentary. Far more balanced and neutral and much more knowledgable all round.

He was quick to praise Coventrys Brilliant performance and how Brilliant Gyokeres was, not sure either could be described as Brilliant, Coventry are well organised not much more than that
