If and very hopefully when JOC is fit do you think he will be able to transition to Slavs four at the back

I think he will but would you consider playing him at left back I personally dont think he would fit in there

Regarding O'Connell, all we get is a big one of these fuckers:-

Why don't interviewers ever ask???

He's the piece that is missing in the centre of that back four, that solves one of our problems. Goalkeeper, centre mid and target man to finish the job of.

Sorted then. We should be really sorted for the league 1, 101 point assault 2023/24. When does his contract run to?

Slab’s last comment was cryptic, that we wouldn’t see him this year - did he mean calendar year or season? I for one am praying that it’s the former.

No

I think we need to see how he is when he returns

All belief he will come back and galvanise the defence may be premature

He had a career threatening injury, and a long time out

Sadly
there is no guarantee he will return to be the rock we saw prior to the injury

His personal health, physical and mental is more important

Chef had 2 (ahem) years out and never return to be the player he was

If JoC does come back, it may well be we don’t see the player we saw in our return to the prem

Hopefully he is, but relying on him in that sense is in hope more than expectation

Good luck JoC, we’re all behind you

Can anybody think of a single professional footballer that came back from a two year lay off and didn't have to drop down the leagues like a lead balloon and/or retire soon thereafter? I'm struggling to think of one

Not really, because I'm struggling to think of a realistic injury that would keep you out for that long these days that isn't a career ender, unless it's really a series of aggravations/compensatory injuries when trying to come back while not fully fit. Even torn ACL's or other ligaments which would be career enders in the past are only 6-8 months now

He’s got as much chance as anyone on our books, he’s clearly a smart footballer. Sadly, I don’t think he’ll play again at this level. Hope I’m wrong. He was twice the player Tyrone Mings is and that donkey walks into the England squad now.

Aaron Ramsay, Santi Cazorla, Henrik Larsson...but aye, point taken.

He did come back though and it recur, the rest is rumours that we don't really know. Let's just hope he can come back though because he was such a class act, right on the brink of the England squad and I honestly think that although we love him, we probably didn't realise quite how good he was/is.

We've seen Jags, Cahill and Maguire and none of them were anywhere near him.

Ronaldo but he was a special player.

Still nothing from the club about his progress??
They have been updating every month in some of the press conference. No change he still working on getting back to full training. The only news we don't have is whether he will play again
