In managerial termsGranted he’s still learning…. But young? He’s 54!!
I remember fondly twenty years ago when he posted as DJhairyken.Or the Bald DJ Known as Ken and if he changes his name he can then be called the Bald DJ Formally known as Ken
Was this just before The DJCombOverKen era?I remember fondly twenty years ago when he posted as DJhairyken.
It doesn’t, I’m just interested to see how he gets on as they’re a team that haven’t really done anything for years. Why's the level of support relevant? He's had success at every club regardless of size.
Do you think we were a league 1 club? A club our size had no right being there, Sunderland / Wednesday are the same. We were there because of bad management over a long period of time.
My point is that you seem fixated with the size of a club. We certainly deserved to be in league 1, unquestionably, as do Sunderland and Wednesday.Do you think we were a league 1 club? I'm not sure why you're taking any negativity out of my post, I think Wilder will do well at M'boro.
You’ve missed the point. So where did the money for Berge, Brewster, McBurnie, Ramsdale etc come from? Did it grow on a magic tree?
No I don’t at allMy point is that you seem fixated with the size of a club. We certainly deserved to be in league 1, unquestionably, as do Sunderland and Wednesday.
He’s not far off 1000 matches as a managerIn managerial terms
Gave me my best times watching the blades got a massive tune out of the same group of players that this clown is now struggling with. Thanks for the legacy ChrissyFoderingham
A figure of ridicule at almost every club he’s been at.
Lowe
Ushered out the door quicker than he came through it.
Stevens
A player who came up through the divisions as part of the journey. No longer up to it.
Egan
The only fit centre-half left from the Wilder era. A shadow of himself without O’Connell.
Robinson
Abysmal.
Bogle
A bog-standard Championship right-back who clearly isn’t up to it this season.
Baldock
Again, part of the journey. But just loves to complicate everything he does and a headless chicken in the opposition half.
O’Connell
Played through injury - one which could possibly end his career. No sign of being close to a return.
Basham
The only one who can still hold his head high. But without time on his side.
Osborn
Jack of all trades. Master of none.
Norwood
The most ‘confidence player’ I’ve ever seen. Awful without it. Lacks a midfield presence EVERY midfielder should have.
Fleck
Absolutely no idea what’s happened to him but he’s dog shit.
Freeman
What an outstanding £4m capture that was.
Berge
A £20m superstar who can’t stay fit but is a really nice lad, apparently.
Brewster
A £20m striker who couldn’t score in a brothel.
McBurnie
A £20m striker who looks like he won a competition.
Mousset
A £10m striker who can’t get close to 10 games without injury.
McGoldrick
A star of the journey who Wilder got the best out of. Even at his best he was turd in front of goal. Now looks like the player Ipswich released but 5 years older.
Burke
Looks like he lost a competition and turned up anyway.
Sharp
A club legend who, like Basham, can hold his head high and still offerBut can’t be far off retiring.
That’s some legacy, Chrissy.
I get to choose what Wilder’s legacy is in my own mind, as far as I’m concerned the man took us on an incredible journey - yes it ended awfully but for me the legacy is that journey. You can be pedantic and talk about how legacy is what’s left at the end but then we were also relegated with Bassett and he seems to be fairly fondly remembered (understatement obviously). We weren’t 9th in the PL when he left - we were rock bottom, relegation-bound and one of the worst teams in PL history. Or do you get to choose when his legacy ended?
Legacy can mean all sorts of things, as I said above you could argue it’s what Wilder left us with, but that to me is not his legacy, to me his legacy is what he will be remembered for - to that end I think my point is still valid.I don’t think you understand what legacy means…sure that’s an achievement but not a legacy.
And so what? You can argue all day about the definition of the word. What isn’t open to interpretation is what CW was referring to when he repeatedly mentioned “leaving a legacy”.
He gave me my best times as a Blade. And I doubt it’ll be topped. That doesn’t mean I will indefinitely stick up for the guy in everything he does. “Leaving a legacy” and what he meant by that were his words, not mine. The opening post only discusses both his quote and the state of the club when he walked out.
What’s your legacy pal?Foderingham

Probably the change came after signing lucrative contracts55th in the league to 9th is his good bit left when we were 20th
whats unbelieveable is so many players who looked prem players in 19 20 season
looked like league one players in 20 21
To be a legend you have to finish the job he walked out on us like a whimpering wreck. You completely missed the point with your kneejerk defence of the man.
That he took us to 9th in the Premier League from 11th in League 1 is indisputable.
Legacy is nothing to do with that journey, but how he set us up for life thereafter.
The reality is as the opening poster states.
He left us 20th in the PL, short on cash with a poorly assembled squad, attuned only to one way of playing... as a result, we're now at the bottom end of the division below. That is his legacy. Regardless of the fun ride before it.
Legacy is nothing to do with that journey, but how he set us up for life thereafter.
Ok.It’s just a topic on a forum mate. Like the thousands of others. If it’s of no interest to you then off is the general direction in which you should fuck.
The clubs bank account would beg to differA quarter of a billion pounds wasted, with not a lot to show for it.
He didIf Rammers had played like this for us though, then Wilder might still be in a job.

Back door alertHe left by the back door before it got any worse because he knew we were sinking like a stone due to the worst set of signings imaginable.
The same way Warnock did and Basset before him.
If you think that SUFC are going to be top 6 contenders for decades you need a new sport.
And I have no doubt that’s your greatest achievement in life. Your mother will be proud of you.I once went to fart and inadvertently shat my pants.
