Good draw from a financial point of view. Last year in the second round they beat Hudds 5-1 at home with 28,901.
And the time before that when they were at home in the league cup nearly 28,000 watched them against Luton (2006/7).
So 28,000 x average of £20 = £560,000 divided by 2 = £280k each! Surely that can fund McDonald???

Could be a decent one in a financial sense but it would have been nice to see us get a little further than round two.
Suppose you never know though, maybe the unrest of their fans over their lack of investment in the team (sounds familiar) could unsettle them a bit and we could shock them. Especially if we keep winning until then and go in to it with a bit of confidence.

Well organised as Everton are, they are stagnant. They have had only one signing i think. could be a good night.

I went to bed before the Pig's game was finished so didn't know the draw. Just hoping we play them Wednesday night as it is on the tbc fixture list I've got... Thursday night we're meant to be down in Yeovil

Decent enough draw from a money point of view. Could be interesting if we remain unbeaten and take some momentum into it. Would have quite liked a packed Bramall Lane or an easy draw to ensure us getting a little further.

The Draw seemed a complete joke to me.

Expenses are paid out of the revenue pot, before the money is distribited
Can't remember exactly what expenses they are, but i think it includes Police, Stewarding, Hotels, Travel etc.
The final total paid out won't be anywhere near 280k each. (Based on those attendance figues/prices)

I've just had a quick squizz to see what happened but can't find anything, but based on the draw and a bit of analysis:
- 13 teams joined the 2nd round draw but there are 24 ties
- So they created an extra 11 seeds based on last season's league positions but took out Birmingham who are in Europe and obviously Blackpool, Hull and Ipswich who all lost in round 1 - the seeds go down to Bristol City in last year's Championship (e.g. so not Donny)
- There are also the 5 postponed R1 matches but they seeded the higher finishing team where it applies, i.e. West Ham (v Aldershot), Bristol City (v Swindon), Reading (v Charlton) and Watford (v Bristol Rovers) so you could get a R2 tie between 2 non-seeded teams
- They then did a pre-draw for the 24 non-seeded teams on a simple home or away basis and there are 12 away and 12 at home so I assume it's on a 50/50 basis
- They then drew the seeded teams to match the already drawn home or away non-seeded teams
Phew - couldn't live without working that out!

I think Sheffield United could beat Everton in the 2nd round of the carling cup, as im not sure whether Everton actually care about the Carling Cup as i would say Everton's priotery this season is to be qualifying for Europe so it could be a weakened Everton side & Sheffield United could be on a run & high in confidence by then as on paper we really should win our next 3 games against brentford, walsall & tranmere (no disrespect to those sides).
also theres always upsets in the cup like who would have thought in the 1st round of the carling cup that Barnet & Macclesfield could have gone away to 2 championship sides and beat them comfortably

To be fair I think their priority will be staying in the Prem. Teams aruond them have strengthened whilst they've done bugger all.

Most of the Everton fans I know arent going Wednesday due to the shambolic performance on Saturday. So if you dont have a ticket you might be able to get into the Everton parts no problem!
