3 of us setting off at 10am. We'll be having a wander around Liverpool - Albert Dock, Tate Gallery, Science Museum etc before moseying on to the game.

Everton haven't got enough players in their squad to pick a weakened side have they?

yes but what im thinking is david moyes might be cautious & play a 1/2 stength side & go for a run in fa cup as david moyes doesn't have a big squad so what would happens if Moyes plays a full strength side tonight & Jags, Cahill or arteta get injured & also if his first 11 plays the tiredness could affect the premier league form & suck everton into a relegation battle. and he has no money to reinforce the team & can only rely on academy & 2 loans form premier league.

Tiredness? What tiredness is this? They've only played one game. I'd love to be that tired on £25000 per week.

Years since i drove to Everton wheres best for parking ?

Most websites seem to suggest Walton Lane if you're there early enough, or the Stanley Park car park. Think I'll be heading for the latter, do I want to trust the streets of Liverpool? :o

Everton 0 SU 1 tomorrow (Jags OG, bullet header from a corner, last minute.)

im think long term because if he play the same xi wednesday & saturday most weeks then the team will get more fatigued quicker & they only have academy for replacements

5-0 Everton. They will play a strong team and be well up for it + we are not very good = hammering.

Couldn't care less, hope no injuries - see you all at Yeovil.

A betting man would go for Everton every time. I think United could pinch this under the right conditions.

Everton have a very winnable game away to Blackburn on Saturday and Moyes wont want to risk injury to key players.

I could see him playing a mix of youth and experience. They will still be under pressure to win it and there could be some nerves.

Blades to pinch it 2-1!

This is an intriguing one. My gutt instinct (which I have learnt to trust over the years) is telling me that it will be a home win. However (as is often the case in football) there too are too many unknown variables that mean this is difficult to call.

Everton

If they put out anything like a full strength side and play to 60% of their ability then they will cruise to victory. But will Moyes take the competition seriosuly and will he have one eye on Blackburn at the weekend? A win for them might appease what has been a slow start, but will he risk the likes of Cahill, Arteta, Jags and Saha (all missing for large stages last season) when he has such a small squad and no money to spend. As a Blade I am hoping that Everton will not take this seriously and rest their best players. Realistically it will probably be somewhere inbetween. I think this will be enough for them to still win.

United

I am intrigued to see how Wilson will play this. We've played 4 games in a 3 weeks and have another 2 games in the following 7 days. Will he go for the knock out and try to get the prize money or will he try and mix it up and keep players fresh for Saturday away at Yeovil. I think he has 3 options:
a) Keep the strongest team. Try to keep the momentum and get the cash for knocking Everton out. The down side is potential tiredness and inuries. Would he prefer to win tonight or on Sat?
b) Couple of changes: freshen things up slightly by bringin in a few players that have been on the fringes (Porter/Boggy, Mendez-Laing)
c) Give some others a chance: We've seen little of Boggy, Porter, Mendez-Laing and Flynn so far. Plus nothing of Philskirk, McAllister or Tonne. I doubt it will be anything of the sort (perhaps the JPT at Burton is a more appropriate place to test players) but it would be interesting.

I am guessing it will be a) or b) with McAllister and Mendez-Liang coming in (and possibly Porter).

Ollessendro's prediction

2-0 home win.

Think I'm going to head across after work. Assume you can pay on the day?

Not sure what time I'll make it across for but if people are meeting up, could someone PM with me with a meeting place if there is one as I'm on me jack...

Everton 0 - 1 Sheffield United
Jageilka OG 90+4

ill admit by confidence has dipped after seeing evertons starting xi with Baines, Heitinga, Jagielka, Arteta, Osman, Fellaini & Rodwell all starting

we got to take postives out of the game as Sheffield United were matching them or defending well for 1/2 hour & kept a clean sheet in 2nd half versus same the same XI that everton will probally play Blackburn at weekend & also it frees us up for an assault on Johnstone Paint Trophy which i still barring a miracle/freak like birmingham had last season or cardiff in 2007 or we get bottomless pit owners like man city it our best chance of cup final for many years to come
