Said it before, not the weight that's his issue... its his conditioning and diet/ lifestyle.

Speaking with Strength and Conditioning coaches, its not something which is fixed quickly, its about conditioning the muscles to be used to the constant rigours of training, matches, recovery... so that things like hamstrings don't keep going

I really hope he comes good. We all do... but its about sorting his mindset out getting himself as fit as he can possibly be and staying there.

If he does that then the body fat % will naturally comedown.

Agree 100% diet and lifestyle have a huge impact on conditioning. I remember a good friend from years gone by who owned his own gym telling me getting the right shape and condition was only 25% what you did in the gym/training. The other 75% was what you put into your body and how you lived your life. Moose can put in all the gym sessions he likes but until he cuts out the gluttony on the junk food he will not improve.

At best he's got a purple patch in him, of perhaps 4-6 weeks. Where we may see him near his best and bag a handful of goals, which could be very helpful for us this season in getting some points on the board.

Would love to be proved wrong, but we've been here before and expecting anything above that is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Unless he's a consistent starter and can physically manage 90 mins, he needs to go in the summer.

I am generally an optimist, an interesting stance to take and support the blades some might say!
And I certainly only wish the best for anybody who has the honour of putting on the red and white.
However, The cynic in me is voicing doubt that being in the last year of a contract it’s more about getting the next deal…..
That’s just my cynic though

hes either got to be used to start and give us everything for 65 minutes or come off the bench for the last 25 just cant see him ever lasting a full 90 minutes

Don’t want to sound belligerent, but how do you know he is glutinous with junk food? Sure he’s often a bit of a tubster, but do we actually know why?

No definitely think the same however if he’s fit I think we have to start him and try get him to build up his match fitness a half fit moose offers more that most in the league

If he gets injured so be it and he’ll leave on a free and probably go back to francs

Doing triple sessions in the gym

Get him on that pitch

Not wishing to be cynical at all, but thats the sort of message I’d have liked to have seen him put out when he still had another two years left on his contract.

He’s basically took the piss for two years, stolen a wage, been totally unprofessional and not given a second thought for the club, the fans, or the board, but now, coincidentally in the last year of his contract, he’s suddenly up for getting fit?

Well as they say, Fool me once…. etc, etc 🖕🏻

I wouldn’t say he’s took the piss we knew the player we signed was like that we took the gamble so that is on us

Yes he hasn’t been professional however I think he has also been unfortunate with injuries

He was fit for a large part in the Prem and wilder still benched him

He’s great if he’s running on to a through ball; a waste of space if the play is behind him or played up to him.

He needs to get fit for some other sap of a club to offer him a 3 year deal.

#notfallingforit

What has dropped is the fact he is out of work in 8 months time !!

FACT.

Probably on decent money here and him or his agent has realised he needs to do something to get anywhere close to it wherever his next contract is.

So he basically needs to prioritise and commit to the lifestyle of being a professional athlete?

He's class on his day, and I want him to succeed, but I just don't have faith in him being regularly and consistently available for us. Whether that's due to attitude, application, maturity of general bill of health, I can't see it - or more to the point there are many more who could be brought and relied on on a weekly basis.

I think that's a bit unfair. He showed in the Premiership that he can operate as a lone frontman and held the ball up really well at times.
