Substitutes

6 Basham
7 Brewster
9 McBurnie
11 Mousset
17 McGoldrick
18 Foderingham
24 Hourihane

Not happy about losing yesterday, but it’s certainly not slitting your wrists time.
Thought the substitute selection was bizarre. Why so many forwards? Furious goes off and the only option is Bash (love him, but not a right back). Just think too little cover. You can’t put all those forwards on in one game, so why so many? And don’t tell that McGoldrick or Brewster are midfielders.

One problem is that Bogle seems too lightweight defensively to provide cover for Baldock and so Slav may be reluctant to give him a spot on the bench. I agree that it was forward heavy but sticking the likes of Burke and Robinson on the bench is just as redundant imo.

Hopefully January will see some players moved on and Slav can bring in some of his preferred targets to balance out the matchday eighteen.

Brewster should start every game paying all that money just to be on the subs bench. give him a run of games.
were not man city who can afford to have million-pound players on the bench.

But he’s no good. There isn’t a single player who played yesterday who he deserved to okay in front of. And I say that as someone who doesn’t rate McBurnie.

Yes, we paid a ton of money. We got it wrong.

It did seem a bit too gung-ho. I think Bogle is injured but I'd have had another defender on the bench, particularly with Stevens just coming back from injury.
Just yet another one of Slav's bizarre decisions.

Bench was probably better than the starting 11. Good to see Bash get a run, good chance for Bogle to claim a place now

If he’s shit it doesn’t matter what we paid for him. He shouldn’t even be in the 18 based on his achievements as a Blades player.

Bash did more when he came on than Baldock has all season.

Can’t say I’ve been too impressed with Baldock so far this season. He gets up and down well but that’s about it. Defensively suspect and his delivery is usually poor.

Let's be honest the midfield is rubbish, Norwood and Fleck look past it to me. I would drop them and play Berge when fit and Basham who always plays well.
No service to the forwards. even Cristiano Ronaldo would struggle to score..players need to be sold and better players bought in January.

Yes Baldock does flatter to deceive sometimes. But let’s face it, if Bash stood in anybody in this team at the moment, he’d probably make a better fist of it. Even in defence he’s a more direct forwards thinking player than any of his ponderous teammates. Whereas George flaps about a lot, without a consistent end product.

They do get chances, three sitters missed yesterday again. Sharp, Davis and Moose should all have scored

To be fair your correctBladesthorpe in regard to missed chances by forwards.

I’ve nothing against Bogle but in a flat back 4 will he ever get a look in? For me Baldock/Basham are the better option. Bogle will come into his own as a wing back, a position that has suddenly become redundant.
