In the end I thought we were miles the better side.

First half Billy missed an excellent chance to put us ahead though an error by Olsen almost gifted them a goal.

End of first half we shaded it. First 20 were were the best team and attacked with real intent.

We then scored an excellent goal on the counter. Great play by Billy and a super finish by Gibbs-White.

I'd need to see what happened next again. We didn't look in danger then a mad 5 minutes and we were behind. I'm not convinced at all that Enda didn't get some of the ball. Why the hell he decided to dive in was anyone's guess though. As he had received treatment I'm also not convinced he was allowed to take the pen as he should have effectively been waived off and waiting to be waived back on? Not sure of the rules there.

Then they broke once more down the left and we just didn't firstly close down the guy with the ball and we have Fleck and a couple of others looking to the ball and didn't pick up the man running in.

After that was just a total onslaught from United. They were jammy beyond belief.

We had a free kick from Gibbs-White. It hit the outstretched arm of their player and nothing was given. The ref at this point was an absolute homer.

Late on a good cross from the left saw Mousset hit the bar, it bounced out to McBurnie at an awkward height and his scissor kick I think just deflected off Cahill. How we didn't score I really don't know.

If we play like that, especially at the end, we'll batter 3 teams out of 5.

Hugely disappointing because our play isn't getting what it deserves. We were on the front foot from the off and overall I'd say the better side who created by far the better chances. They got a pen which deserved a second look and the officials all missed the handball.

Very unjust result. But to offset we've also got to be able to play shit and win. It's zero points this week, we've handed a huge lead to Bournemouth and on today's showing we are a better team than them.

Very frustrating to walk away empty handed when we absolutely battered them for the last 20, had a handball turned down and hit the bar from about a yard.

After 2 worldies in the week and hitting the post, this team certainly isn't getting the rub of the green right now.

I thought we were the better team but we really need points and an ability to keep clean sheets.

Im slightly concerned about the fact that Billy has had on 1 on 1 situation's in each of the last 3 games and missed all of em. 2 of em werent even on target. Chances he'dve burried a couple of season's ago. Im sure he'll come good. Rest of his game has been immense more often than not so im not complaing too much.

We weren't miles the better side but the ref certainly made a mistake for the pen.

A draw would have been a fair result
All about opinions. Up to them taking the lead I'd concur, but for the last 20 minutes they hardly had a kick. It was all United.

We deserved a draw absolute minimum and with the rules being applied evenly we would have had every chance.

How the hell are we 13pts behind Bournemouth?
Because we don’t score goals, have a poor defence and a non existent powder puff midfield. We used to be a team but last season sucked all confidence out of us and Slav expects the same players to somehow find that confidence…… why not play hourahan today????
We need to mix it up. The measure of insanity is continuing to do the same over and over and expecting it to work.
Slav and Wilder just will not change things

I think we are getting better, but we must be more effective. We tend to dominate possession, even away we seem capable of doing that, but we have to work very hard to score a goal.

Defensively we don't give away too many chances, but the ones we do give away are big. That's also something for us to improve on.

Aye the manager who has tinkered through most of the matches this season tactically and is clearly trying to overhaul a hard baked tactical system, is resistant to change.

We lost again. Doesn’t matter how well you play. If you concede more than you score you lose. problem is we have a terrible front line and a poor defence. Don’t need to say how crap the midfield is.
Really poor squad. Feel sorry for Slav but maybe if he can clear out 90% of the team he can get proper footballers in.

Reminds me of Bournemouths game against Luton last week. Luton were by far the better side but couldn't get more than one goal.

I agree with pretty much all of that. I would also say that if that penalty is not awarded, we probably don't lose that game.

One thing that does concern me is that we seem to have lost the ability to salvage something from a losing position. Once we fall behind we lose. The last time we avoided defeat after falling behind was at home to West Brom at the beginning of February.

I think our squad is good, but it feels like we could play two elevens which would both be decent, but not brilliant at this level.

The stats seem to support the fact that the better team won. If the opposition gets two goals and you’ve only managed to hit the target once, you can’t really complain.

did you watch the game? Some may think we were the better side, others even but only the blind or bias would think they were the better side. Statistics don’t always tell the whole story

Granted, one of their shots on target was a penalty that shouldn't have been, but only one shot on target for a game we apparently bossed is very poor.

I always think when people talk about the "better" team on the day that taking your chances is part of the performance, not making stupid errors is part of the performance, not letting a bad decision get into your head etc. etc.

Some are point to the fact that Bournemouth did the damage in five minutes. But what does it say about the way United played that Bournemouth's five minutes was enough to win the whole match, that it was more than we managed in the other 85?

I think the only way the "better" team can end up losing is because of the referee. To be fair, that was at least partially the case today - their equaliser never should have been. The ref wasn't the reason we missed all those chances, or only had one attempt on target though.

A fair bit of them running straight through us in those highlights, down the wings and both channels. I suppose that's what you get with Ndiaye and MGW both playing, very little protection

Thanks, I don't fullyget it at all but you seem to so I'll agree there's clearly method behind their madness. £25-30m is silly money for Ramsdale.

I know fans on here want even more than that but that's not realistic either. Great shot stopper, distribution can be poor. Crossing worries me, when he cleaned out Egan? (possibly wrong) at the weekend for no reason because he was panicking over a cross.

Any idea on the xG stats? Cos I agree with the op, we were the better side today

I despair how quick some are to panic and throw the teddies out.

No-one thinks it's all hunky dory and we don't have areas to address but jeez some of the comments on here and other social media in the last hour.

Not only no patience but clearly wanting industrial tactics and no interest in building a football team. Because that's worked so well for us before.

Only this club could employ a proven manager who has a reputation for getting teams promoted playing exciting football, and start talking about him being on borrowed time at the start of October because we're mid table and still building after a dismal season last time.

Which stats in particular? The shots on target one is misleading.

Bournemouth certainly didn't have any more 'good' chances than us. And one of their shots on target came from a penalty that should not have been awarded.

We hit the bar. Doesn't count as a shot on target, but it's as close to scoring as a saved shot and probably closer to scoring than a blocked shot that might have been on target..........if you get my drift!

Just watched the 2 mins highlights. Not enough I know to give a full insight on the game, but seems to show Bournemouth missing more clear chances than us. And the pen was outside the area, but Stevens was lucky to not be sent off anyway for raking the Bournemouth player's thigh with the high studs tackle. And the Mousset miss? Fuckin' wank that's what is was. And that's 'cos a wanker is what he is. No doubt be injured now for the next 20 games after the stress of 30 mins play....

We'd have probably found some other way of losing, at least we can blame the ref now
